TMay gave the MLB Main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel and early look and found some targets he likes for DFS. Let’s get to work.
Max Scherzer- At $10,800 on DraftKings and $10,700 on FanDuel, Scherzer is priced right where he should be against the Mets. An implied run total of 3.45 suggests that Scherzer should not have any problems navigating through this Mets lineup. Go ahead and lock him into your cash lineups.
Marco Gonzales- At $6,600 on DraftKings and $8,200 on FanDuel, Gonzales is at a reasonable price point against a struggling Rangers offense. The Rangers are 29th in MLB in wRC+ and Gonzales has seen an uptick in his strikeout numbers in 2020. The $6,600 price tag allows you to pay up for better bats on DraftKings as well.
New York Yankees- The Yankees square off against Touki Toussiant in Yankee Stadium. An implied run total of 5.6 suggests that the Bronx Bombers will score early and often in this spot. Focus on D.J. LeMahieu, Aaron Judge, Mike Ford, and Aaron Hicks.
Arizona Diamondbacks- The Diamondbacks are playing at Coors Field against a starting pitcher in Kyle Freeland that is not known for high strikeout numbers. Freeland is due for regression with a 2 run difference between his FIP and ERA. The Diamondbacks should not struggle to score in this spot. Focus on Ketel Marte, Starling Marte, Christian Walker, and Eduardo Escobar.
Josh Lindblom- At $5,800 on DraftKings and $7,300 on FanDuel, Lindblom is my favorite pay down starting pitcher on the slate. He has posted a K/9 of 12.46 thus far in 2020 and is facing a Twins lineup that will strike out at an average clip. At this price point, Lindblom only has to manage the damage and get a few strikeouts to hit value. He has the talent to smash value and I will have plenty of shares in tournaments.
Dylan Bundy- At $9,700 on DraftKings and FanDuel, Bundy could go overlooked against Oakland. Bundy looks to be finally reaching his potential as he has posted a K/9 of 10.38 and a FIP of 2.24 in 2020. An implied total of 4.06 suggests that Bundy has an avenue for success against Oakland.
Atlanta Braves- Atlanta is going up against Jordan Montgomery in Yankee Stadium on today’s slate. They’ve posted a wRC+ of 109 which is good for 8th in MLB. The Braves could go overlooked due to the middle of the pack implied run total of 4.4. Focus on Ronald Acuna, Dansby Swanson, Adam Duval, and Marcell Ozuna.
Washington Nationals- The Nationals are facing Rick Porcello and have an implied run total of 4.05. They have a below-average team wRC+ but, they are getting into a groove since Juan Soto’s return to the lineup. I expect Washington to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Juan Soto, Trea Turner, Howie Kendrick, and Starlin Castro.
