I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Shane Bieber- At $11,000 on DraftKings and $11,800 on FanDuel, Bieber is priced up for a matchup against Milwaukee. Bieber has been dominant in 2020 posting a K/9 of 14.35 and a FIP of 1.74. The Brewers have an abysmal implied run total of 2.65 which indicates Bieber should cruise in this spot. Bieber will be the cornerstone of my pitching exposure on today’s slate.
Tyler Glasnow- At $8,700 on DraftKings and $10,100 on FanDuel, Glasnow is at a reasonable price point for a matchup against Miami. More of a DraftKings play for me due to the massive discount relative to the other elite arms on the slate. Glasnow has posted a K/9 of 15.09 and a FIP of 3.03 in 2020. His ceiling is just as high as the other top options on the slate and he comes at a discount on DraftKings. Sign me up for some Glasnow.
Robbie Ray- At $6,600 on DraftKings and $7,300 on FanDuel, Ray is priced down for a matchup against Boston. Ray has definitely had his struggles this season, no question about it. The good news is that his strikeout numbers are still elite posting a K/9 of 12.32 in 2020. The ceiling is there for Ray if he can find his command. An implied run total of 5 should keep the field off Ray and I’ll have some shares in tournaments.
Chicago White Sox- The White Sox have a matchup against Matt Harvey with an implied run total of 6.09. The Dark Knight has stuggled in 7.2 innings of work in 2020 and is facing a White Sox lineup that hits like they’re playing beer league slow pitch softball. I’ll lean on the massive total and an elite wRC+ of 118 for the White Sox in this spot. Focus on Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu, Luis Robert, and Eloy Jimenez.
Toronto Blue Jays- The Blue Jays have a date with Andrew Triggs with an implied run total of 6. Triggs posted a K/9 of 9.36 and a FIP of 4.81 in 2020. Not afraid to attack this spot and the ball has been flying in Buffalo. Toronto has an adundance of power in their lineup posting an ISO of .192 in 2020. Focus on Vlad Guerrero Jr., Cavan Biggio, Randal Grichuk, and Teoscar Hernandez.
Washington Nationals- The Nationals have a matchup against Josh Tomlin with an implied run total of 4.41. Tomlin is a pitch to contact guy at this stage of his career and relys on missing barrels rather than the swing and miss. The Nats have been in the middle of the pack offensively posting a wRC+ of 104 and an ISO of 175. This isn’t a sexy pick by any stretch but, they should be low owned relative to the field. I’ll take my chances against a below average pitcher. Focus on Juan Soto, Trea Turner, Howie Kendrick, and Eric Thames.
See ya in discord,
