Los Angeles Chargers @ New Orleans Saints O/U 50 NO -7

Scenario 1: Game Stays Close

In this scenario, there are two outcomes we are trying to cover; a defensive battle and a shootout. For the defensive battle, I would roster the defense of the team you think will win the game. It is likely that both quarterbacks would struggle in this scenario. This isn’t out of the question with Justin Herbert starting for Los Angeles and Micheal Thomas being inactive. For the New Orleans side, I’m focusing on Alvin KamaraDrew BreesEmmanuel Sanders, and Tre’Quan Smith. For the Los Angeles side, I’m focusing on Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Joshua Kelly, and Hunter Henry. I would toss in the kicker of the team that you think wins as well.

For the shootout, think of it as a game of ping pong. Saints score, Chargers score, Saints score, etc. For roster construction, I’d prefer a 3-3 build on DraftKings and a 3-2 build on FanDuel. Focus on players that you think have a chance to score multiple touchdowns. For the New Orleans side, I’m focusing on Alvin KamaraDrew BreesEmmanuel Sanders, Adam Trautman, and Tre’Quan Smith. In 150 max, I would have a few shares of Taysom Hill. For the Los Angeles side, I’m focusing on Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Joshua Kelly, Justin Jackson, and Hunter Henry. For DraftKings, I want a Running Back, Wide Receiver in the Captain spot. For FanDuel, I want a Quarterback or Running Back in the MVP spot.

Scenario 2: Saints Dominate

In this scenario, we’re looking at a potential final score in the 30-14 range in favor of the Saints. For roster construction, I would roster 1 Charger at most. I’d lean towards Keenan Aleen for this scenario. I’m targeting  Alvin KamaraDrew BreesEmmanuel Sanders, Adam Trautman, and Tre’Quan Smith for this scenario. My top plays are Alvin Kamara and Drew Brees. Kamara will be the focal point of the offense and Brees will be key as the Chargers’ run defense is more stout than their pass defense. Lock in the Saints Defense and Will Lutz for this scenario. More sack opportunities for the defense and kicking opportunities for Santos. For Captian on DraftKings, I’d favor Alvin Kamara or Emmanuel Sanders. For MVP on FanDuel, I’d roll with Drew Brees or Alvin Kamara.

Scenario 3: Chargers Dominate

In this scenario, the Chargers are going to route the Saints to the tune of a final score of around 30-14. For roster construction, I would roster 1 Saint at most. I’d lean towards Alvin Kamara because he will be the focal point of the Saint’s offense and should get as many touches as he can handle. I’m targeting Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Joshua Kelly, Justin Jackson, and Hunter Henry for this scenario. My top plays are Keenan Allen and Joshua Kelly. Allen has seen a total of 41 targets over his last 3 games with Herbert and Kelly should be the recipient of more touches due to Austin Ekeler being inactive. For Captian on DraftKings, I’d favor Keenan Allen. For MVP on FanDuel, I’d roll with Justin Herbert or Joshua Kelly.

FantasyCruncher Limits and Groups

For limits, I want at most 1 defense and at most 1 kicker. I don’t envision a scenario where rostering multiples of those positions in the same lineup is an optimal play. FantasyCruncher just rolled out an update for groups that allows you to have multiple folders of groups. I’d recommend having a folder for each scenario that I described above and differentiating those groups throughout your 20 or 150 max contests. Focus on the correlation between the Captain/MVP and the remaining players. For example, I’m pairing Captain Keenan Allen with Justin Herbert and another pass catcher. This theorizes that the Chargers will go pass-heavy and Herbert will throw for multiple touchdowns. It is important in groups to keep the rotational guys out of your groups. This will allow you to have more control over your lineups.

See ya in discord,
