Must Draft Quarterback That’s Hyped

Joe Burrow

  • In just 10-Games last season, he averaged 17 PPG, threw for 2,688 yards, and finished with 13 passing touchdowns while tacking on another 3 rushing touchdowns and 142 yards on the ground
  • Extrapolated over 16-Games, Burrow would have finished as the QB13 in his rookie season on a miserable Bengals team
  • He would have finished with the most passing attempts in the NFL and 6th most passing yards
  • Only the touchdowns were low, but those usually are for rookie quarterbacks (take a peek at my 2021 Rookie Projections video)
  • Loaded arsenal with Joe Mixon in the backfield, and a bevy of rising talents at the WR position (Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase)

Must Draft Quarterback That’s Forgotten

Carson Wentz

  • After absorbing a 10.3% sack rate last season (worst in his career), he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts
  • On film, he was hurried and skittish behind that patchwork offensive line last season
  • This lead to a ton of terrible decisions and throws
  • But he had a bunch of dimes as well that showed off his athleticism and arm strength which did not suddenly disappear
  • Now joins Frank Reich in Indy where the offense is built on a short and quick passing game
  • Wentz could excel with the scheme due to the balanced running attack
  • Nyheim Hines, Marlon Mack, and the phenomenal Jonathan Taylor will alleviate pressure off of Wentz
  • T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman Jr, Zach Pascal, Parris Campbell are all capable wide receivers with a couple of them ascending talents
  • Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox form a competent tight-end duo inside the red zone to boost TD total upside

Must Draft Quarterback Who’s Draft Board is Chaos

Jalen Hurts

  • Where he is chosen in Best Ball drafts is anyone’s guess right now. It’s chaos on draft day and people either love him or hate him
  • Hurts was the QB3 from Weeks 14-16 and then had a wretched Week 17
  • His 52% completion rate is alarming, but the O-Line was terrible and his offense around him is young
  • Massive rushing upside makes him a threat to finish Top-5 at the QB position
  • Had 300+ Rushing Yards and 3 TD’s on the ground in just 4 starts and a 5th partial game
  • Could easily surpass 1,000 rushing yards and 10 TD’s with just his legs
  • Threw for 300 yards in 2 of his 4 starts. Could finish with 3,000 passing yards and 15 touchdowns
  • Would finish as QB3 last season with those hypothetical finishes
