Starting Pitchers

Brandon Woodruff- At $8,700 on DraftKings and $9,300 on FanDuel, Woodruff is at a reasonable price point for a matchup against St. Louis. Woodruff has been rock solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 11.10 and an xFIP of 3.40. The Cardinals have been below average on offense posting a wRC+ of 95 and a K% of 23.5%. I’m expecting a quality start from Woodruff in this spot and I’ll have him in tournaments.

Luis Castillo- At $9,800 on DraftKings and $10,400 on FanDuel, Castillo is priced up for a matchup against Minnesota. Castillo has been a rock in the Reds rotation posting a K/9 of 11.59 and an xFIP of 2.82. Minnesota has been a league-average offense but, they’re striking out 24.2% of their plate appearances. Castillo will be a volatile play with a double-digit strikeout ceiling.

Michael Pineda- At $8,400 on DraftKings and $7,800 on FanDuel, Pineda is priced in the mid-range for a matchup against Cincinnati. Pineda has had an up and down 2020 campaign posting a K/9 of 8.34 and an xFIP of 4.20. This is more about attacking a Reds offense that strikes out 25% of their plate appearances than Pineda’s talent. If Pienda gives the Twins 6 innings, he could rack up 7-10 strikeouts. I’ll have Pineda in tournaments.

Stacks

Houston Astros- The Astros have a matchup against Kyle Gibson with an implied run total of 5. Gibson has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.92 and an xFIP of 4.42. The Astros have been average offensively posting a wRC+ off 100 and am ISO of .168. They may not have the trash cans but, they have a high total and power bats. Focus on Kyle TuckerGeorge SpringerMichael Brantley, and Alex Bregman.

Chicago White Sox- The White Sox have a date with Jon Lester with an implied run total of 5.35. Lester has regressed in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.12 and an xFIP of 4.99. The White Sox have been elite offensively posting a wRC+ of 113 and an ISO of .192. I expect the White Sox to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Tim AndersonJose AbreuYasmani Grandal, and Eloy Jimenez.

Kansas City Royals- The Royals have a matchup against Matt Boyd with an implied run total of 5.09. Boyd has struggled in 2020 posting a HR/9 of 2.32 and an xFIP of 4.82. The Royals have power bats that can take advantage of Boyd’s lack of command. I expect the Royals to score in bunches in this spot. Focus on Adalberto MondesiWhit MerrifieldSalvador Perez, and Ryan McBroom.

See ya in discord,
TMay
