MLB DFS has a 13-game main slate on DraftKings andFanDuel today.
These are the early morning Top 5 MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to dive into the MLB DFS Rankings, Cash Picks, and Player Pool or the GPP Picks and Player Pool afterward. And of course, the Rise or Fall MLB DFS Projections, ownerships, player ratings, and data are a good place to start for daily fantasy sports.
In cash games, lock in Mad Max and move on. There is not a whole lot of BvP (batter vs pitcher) history to look at with these young Blue Jays, but even then, I don’t think past performance is a true and absolute indicator of future success. Scherzer is one of the best pitchers in the league. In his four starts this season he sports a 1-1 record with an ERA of 1.80. The Blue Jays are middle of the pack as a team striking out at a 24.1% clip.
I want to attack the Diamonds young pitcher Merrill Kelly here. To this point in the season, Kelly has a low 13.7% strikeout rate, and when we combine that with the fact that the Padres don’t strike out very much (22.9% goof for 8th least in MLB) we may have a formula for success. The right-handed Kelly gives up a .211 ISO, 38% flyball rate, and 44% hard contact to right-handed batters. I don’t mind this stacking both sides of the plate in tournaments.
Jose Quintana? Yes, that’s right, Jose Quintana. He hasn’t had the best start to this season, but I absolutely love him tonight in GPPs. He did face this same Texas team in his last start and went 5 strong innings, striking out eight, giving up two hits, and allowing one earned run. The area that killed him was his walks, in which he allowed 4. If he can get command of his pitches the Rangers strike out at a 28.8% rate, which is good for second-worst in all of MLB.
We’re staying with the Astros on FanDuel tonight. They face the gas can known as Marco Gonzales. If you are a BvP-truther this is the spot for you. It appears like the lineup has an excellent history against Gonzales who threw a gem in his last outing against the Dodgers but I’m not expecting a repeat performance tonight. Go do yourself a favor and get creative with the way you stack Houston and pick a good pitcher to go along with it, you won’t be disappointed.
MLB DFS Lineup Winning Pick – New York Mets, NYM vs BOS , O/U 8.5
The Mets face-off against Garrett Richards tonight. The veteran Richards has struggled this season allowing an HH-rate of 47.4% and a K-rate of only 14.5%. The Mets strike out only 21.9% of the time this season, good for third-best in the league. They do a good job of putting the bat on the ball. Richards is getting tagged from both sides of the plate so I have no preference for batters from either side of the dish.
The MLB DFS Core Builds are also referred to as our MLB DFS Building Blocks. Each staff member identifies the core players they would build their Cash or GPP lineup around for both DraftKings and FanDuel. These MLB DFS Picks are basically the Building Blocks of their MLB DFS Lineups.
The MLB Strategy Notebook gives our staff a place to write notes specific to each slate for members to read regarding strategy for each slate. They will mention which stacks they are targeting, which players make more sense for GPP formats over Cash formats and other lineup building tidbits!
The MLB DFS Picks and Pools for GPP’s is crucial for Single Entry players. This list of priority picks are players with slate-winning upside each night. They aren’t just the top projected players, they are picks that take into consideration the Rise or Fall ownership projection, tournament leverage, and daily fantasy baseball roster construction.
The MLB Stacks will display the top stacks of the day using the data from the MLB Study Hub! This will display what teams project the best, which will be higher owned, and a player-by-player breakdown to show which players could be going overlooked.
