MLB DFS has an nine-game main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel, and a 14-game main slate on SuperDraft. The main slate begins at 1:05 PM EST/10:05 AM PST on DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft.
These are the early morning Top 5 MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to dive into the MLB DFS Rankings, Cash Picks, and Player Pool or the GPP Picks and Player Pool afterward. And of course, the Rise or Fall MLB DFS Projections, ownerships, player ratings, and data are a good place to start for daily fantasy sports.
Montgomery is the highest rated pitcher in our MLB DFS Study Hub for DraftKings. I’ll admit that this is a somewhat risky pick because 1) 10 run implied total and 2) The Yankees snapped Oakland’s seven-game win streak yesterday. A game with a high total featuring a team that was playing really well.. Just imagine me holding my breath.
Montgomery has a 22.9% strikeout rate and Oakland is middle of the pack team when it comes to striking out. I like the play but I’ll probably limit my exposure.
The Pirates are the 2nd rated offense in our MLB DFS Study Hub for DraftKings. We’re projecting them to be the 4th highest owned team on the slate. Pitt is 19 games below .500 but they’ve won two games in a row. They’ve scored 11 and six runs in their last two games. They might be an awful team but they’re playing ok right now and I believe in hot bats.
Minor is the highest rated pitcher in our MLB DFS Study Hub for FanDuel. Much like my DK pitcher pick, this pick isn’t without risk. There’s a 9.5 implied run total and the Boston bats have explosive potential. Minor strikes out batters 22.6% of the time. Red Sox batters strike out 23.8% of the time. That combo has me feeling good about Minor’s performance today.
The Orioles are the ranked as the 4th best stack in our MLB DFS Study Hub for FanDuel. The Blue Jays are the favorite in the battle of the birds, but I like the Orioles sticks today. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll win the game. We could see a slugfest, and that’s a good place to be unique since we’re projecting Baltimore to be the 10th highest owned team. Baltimore is just as awful as Pittsburgh from the DK picks. It’s not always about just picking the best team and profit. We have to pick our spots and I like the “bad” guys today.
MLB DFS Picks Top Stack – Chicago Cubs, CHC vs MIA, O/U 9
There are some weather concerns surrounding this game. It doesn’t look like there will be a cancellation but a delay or an early ending are in play from what I’m reading. With that said… The Cubs rank as the 3rd best stack in both our DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS Study Hubs. Chicago are losers of two straight games, but I’m looking for them to get back in the win column in a big way.
The MLB DFS Core Builds are also referred to as our MLB DFS Building Blocks. Each staff member the core players they would build their Cash or GPP lineup around for both DraftKings and FanDuel. These MLB DFS Picks are basically the Building Blocks of their MLB DFS Lineups.
The MLB Strategy Notebook gives our staff a place to write notes specific to each slate for members to read regarding strategy for each slate. They will mention which stacks they are targeting, which players make more sense for GPP formats over Cash formats and other lineup building tidbits!
The MLB DFS Picks and Pools for GPP’s is crucial for Single Entry players. This list of priority picks are players with slate-winning upside each night. They aren’t just the top projected players, they are picks that take into consideration the Rise or Fall ownership projection, tournament leverage, and daily fantasy baseball roster construction.
The MLB Stacks will display the top stacks of the day using the data from the MLB Study Hub! This will display what teams project the best, which will be higher owned, and a player-by-player breakdown to show which players could be going overlooked.
