Let’s get to my early NBA DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. As always this is a quick peek at the upcoming slate. Things are subject to change so check Team Rise or Fall throughout the day for the latest news and notes.
Start your research with this spot every day for our first look at standout Vegas totals, pace up picks, and notable injury news. At the end I’ll address how I would handle this slate with the info we have available. This is a preview and plenty of decisions are subject to change depending on how the day’s news plays out.
It’s a three-game slate so we can throw ownership out of picks formula for the most part. I want to focus on squeezing as many of the highest projected players into my lineups as possible. Then I’ll use one or two lower owned players to help me get unique.
Also, this is CURRENTLY a three-game slate. We’ve seen the coronavirus destroy slates and our best laid plans, so this could end up a two-game or even cancelled slate before lock.
Let’s get to the picks!
Los Angeles Lakers @ Milwaukee Bucks O/U 228.5
The Lakers start a seven game road trip against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. On a bigger slate I’d avoid picks like Anthony Davis and LeBron James because the team is on cruise control until the playoffs.
Since this is a three-game slate I’m giving consideration to both, although keep an eye on LeBron because he’s carrying a questionable tag right now.
Other picks that I like from this game are Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Dennis Schroder, and Montrezl Harrell. This is the premier game on the slate and it has the highest implied total so most of these players will be well owned.
New York Knicks @ Golden State Warriors
Warriors Pace Rating: 104.7
Knicks Pace Rating: 96.2
Game Total: 215.5
We’ve seen the Knicks absolutely strangle opposing offenses the last couple of games where they’ve allowed an average of 80 points. I’m looking for that trend to buck tonight.
Steph Curry is the obvious play in this game. Other picks worthy of consideration include Kelly Oubre Jr., James Wiseman, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley.
This game has the potential to be a blowout or an underperforming game. I’m leaning more towards a blowout because the Warriors have been playing much better lately.
The Knicks are playing poorly compared to their hot start to the season, although they do come into tonight’s action on a two-game winning streak.
Probable: Anthony Davis, Wesley Matthews, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, and Damion Lee.
Questionable: LeBron James and Juwan Hughes.
Doubtful: Frank Ntilikina and Austin Rivers.
Out: Jared Dudley, Kostas Antetokounmpo, and Elijah Hughes.
Julius Randle – Point forward Randle has been a thing for the majority of the early season. He’s averaged 40+ fantasy points over his last one, three, five, seven, and 10 games. That’s a lot of consistency for a guy playing in a pace up spot tonight.
Jrue Holiday – The Bucks guard is usually in consideration to be one of my picks and with a three-game slate he really stands out. He’s in a game with the highest implied total on the slate and he handles the ball a good amount even though he’s sharing with Giannis.
Brook Lopez – I like Lopez tonight and I’m placing him in my “value picks” bucket. He’s 5.3k on FD and 5.1k on DK while averaging about 30 fantasy points per game in recent play.
