5 FREE FanDuel and DraftKings NBA DFS Picks 1/26

NBA DFS FREE PICKS

Welcome to the Team Rise or Fall Free FanDuel and DraftKings NBA DFS picks article. This morning we will highlight some standout Vegas totals, pace ups picks, notable injury news, and my preferred way to pick apart the slate. At the conclusion of the article, we’ll discuss how I plan on handling the slate with the information we have this early in the day. Be mindful that this preview is subject to change as news breaks throughout the day which can and will affect some of these picks.

We have a small three-game slate tonight, but the good news is that they should be rested as none are on the second night of a back-to-back. As always with these smaller slates be smart with your bankroll as the variance can be high.

Notable Vegas Total

Los Angeles Clippers @ Atlanta Hawks O/U 221.5

I list this game not to highlight but to bring attention to. We had quite a bit of news break very early on this game regarding the Clippers. They will be without Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Patrick Beverley. This will open up tons of value with guys like Luke Kennard, Lou Williams, and Marcus Morris. I just don’t know if they will do enough to keep the game close. However, this is going to depend on the news we can on the Hawks.

The Hawks stars Trae Young and Clint Capela are listed as questionable as of this morning. They both missed Sunday’s game against the Bucks. Should they both miss the game there will be value pieces such as DeAndre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, and Danilo Galinari but no one I would say is a must-start. I would also be betting on the under with so much firepower missing from both teams.

Pace Up Picks

Washington Wizards @ Houston Rockets

This will be a high-paced matchup will both teams ranking in the top 10 in the league in pace. This game has revenge narrative written on it for Russell Westbrook who was traded to the Wizards before the start of the season. An angry Russ who will have the ball in his hands should be great for DFS.

On the other side of the ball, Victor Oladipo should continue to be a usage monster in the three games he’s played for the Rockets. This should continue should Christian Wood miss today’s game in which he is already considered questionable.

Injury News

Probable: Cam Reddish,

Questionable: Trae Young, Clint Capela, Danilo Galinari, Raul Neto, Christian Wood,

Out: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Patrick Beverley, Ish Smith, Rui Hachimura, Mo Wagner, Troy Brown, Davis Bertans, Deni Avidja

Early Targets

Donovan Mitchell – The Jazz have been on a tear winning their last 8 games. The engine of the team is Donovan Mitchell. The kid has led the Jazz to double-digit win their last games. I’m hoping the Knicks can keep the game close so we can see what Mitchell can do.

Demarcus Cousins – Assuming that Christian Wood is out again tonight Cousins may end up being the chalk play at center once again. He blew up his last game posting a stat line of 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 assists. I don’t think 100-year-old Robin Lopez can contain Cousins. He should eat tonight.

Marcus Morris – I was torn between Morris and Lou Williams for my final spot here, but I lean Morris early on. There should be an insane amount of usage to be picked up with the absence of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. I wouldn’t mind playing both Morris and Lou Williams.
