Let’s get to the picks!
Portland Trailblazers @ Chicago Bulls O/U 233
You can’t mention the Trailblazers without mentioning Damian Lillard (10.6k DraftKings/9.7k FanDuel). He’s averaging 50+ fantasy points over his last five games. His price on FanDuel feels like a steal where as the DK pricing leaves you with some decisions to make.
Enes Kanter (7.1k/6.9k)has averaged 38 fantasy points per game over his last five games. It’s no secret with Kanter. He can get buckets while allowing a fair amount of buckets too. After Enes we’re getting into the weeds with the Trailblazers. Carmelo Anthony (5.5k/5.2k), Derrick Jones Jr. (4.7k/4.9k), Anfernee Simons (4.4k/3.6k), and Gary Trent Jr. (5.2k/5k) are all capable of being value plays. You just have to pick the right day.
The Bulls are led by Zach Lavine (8.8k/9k) who is having a nice season. He’s averaging career highs in points, assists, rebounds, three point percentage, and effective field goal percentage. As a DFS pick he’s averaging a solid 42 fantasy points per game over his last five games.
After Lavine we’re left with a potluck of players including Lauri Markkanen (6.6k/6.5k), Coby White (6.9k/6k), Thad Young (5k/4.2k), and Otto Porter (5.6k/5k). Markkanen and Thad Young have the most favorable matchups and have averaged 32 and 30 fantasy points over their last five games respectively.
Milwaukee Bucks @ Charlotte Hornets O/U 230.5
The Bucks travel to Charlotte after dropping a game which saw the New Orleans Pelicans hit almost every three pointer they threw at the rim. Giannis Antetokounmpo (10.8k DraftKings/11.3k FanDuel) dropped his second consecutive 60+ fantasy point game, and is averaging 56 fantasy points per game over his last five games.
Khris Middleton (8.5k/8.2k)and Jrue Holiday (7.2k/7.4k) are solid plays as well. They have favorable matchups against Charlotte’s bad defense, and are averaging 43 and 37 fantasy points over their last give games respectively.
Gordon Hayward (7.3k/7.2k) is the man for Charlotte. He had two down games in a row, both against the Indiana Pacers. He could be in a great bounce back spot as the Bucks rank 24th in the NBA against the small forward position.
Other Hornets drawing consideration as picks tonight include Lamelo Ball (5.6k/5.2k) and PJ Washington (6.2k/6.2k). If Ball plays well it will be the second night in a row the Bucks had problems with a Ball Brother.
Detroit Pistons @ Golden State Warriors
Golden State Pace Rating: 103.8
Detroit Pace Rating: 98.5
Game Total: 223.5
Steph Curry (9.7k DraftKings/9.4k FanDuel) is the headliner in this matchup, and Jerami Grant (7.8k/7.8k) draws honorable mention as the Pistons travel to the West Coast (Best Coast) to take on the Warriors.
I’ve faded Draymond Green (5.1k/4.9k) for the most part this season and it’s been the right decision except for a few times. The pace and implied game total are attractive but I’ll probably lay off of Green again tonight.
Other Warriors players worthy of consideration in tournaments are Kelly Oubre Jr. (6k/5.6k), Andrew Wiggins (6.3k/7k), and James Wiseman (4.8k/4.4k). I’d use these players on the site where they cost less due to their inconsistency.
Other Pistons in the mix include Blake Griffin (5.9k/5.8k), Derrick Rose (5k/5.4k), Delon Wright (6.6k/6.1k), and Mason Plumlee (5.4k/5.5k). They all can be considered picks tonight but with a bit of caution.
Blake hasn’t strung together two good performances consecutively. Rose has had four subpar performances in a row. Wright is averaging around 37 fantasy points over his last five games, but just 31.5 over his last two games. Plumlee is playing the most consistently with a 35 fantasy points per game average over his last two games. The bad news is he’s averaging 27 fantasy points over his last five games.
Probable: Gabe Vincent
Questionable: Nemanja Bjelica, Jimmy Butler, Andre Iguodala, Tyler Herro, Avery Bradley, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Derrick White.
Out: Derrick Jones, Moe Harkless, Meyers Leonard, Goran Dragic, Jonas Valanciunas, Justise Winslow, Grayson Allen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Damain Jones, Devin Booker, Dario Saric, Cameron Payne, and Maxi Kleber.
Luka Doncic (10.7k DK/11k FD) – Luka has 60+ fantasy point potential every time he takes the court. With that said, he’s averaging 45 fantasy points per game over his last three games against the Phoenix Suns, and he’s scored in the mid 40s in three of his last five games. I see this as a possible eruption spot.
Gordon Hayward (7.3k DK/7.2k FD) – As I mentioned above Hayward is in a favorable matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s also averaged 40 fantasy points per game over his last five games. I think he’s a really strong pick on tonight’s slate.
Lonzo Ball (5k DK/5.4k FD) – Lonzo byke? If we’re using the smallest of small sample sizes (one game) then yes he is. Lonzo dropped 47dk and 43fd on Milwaukee yesterday. We don’t need him to do that well to hit value, and we’re getting a guy that was priced in the high 6k range in the 5k range. There should be some running and gunning in the New Orleans Pelicans – Houston Rockets game, and that benefits a point guard with the ball.
