Let’s get to the picks!
Philadelphia 76ers @ Portland Trailblazers O/U 229.5
The Sixers and Blazers run back their game from a week ago that saw Portland blowout Philly in Philadelphia. Joel Embiid (10.8k DraftKings/10.8k FanDuel) has scored at least 52 DraftKings points in seven of his last nine games. He only scored 46.25 DK against Portland last week.
Damian Lillard (9.8k/10k) leads the way for the Trailblazers. He didn’t play in the game last week versus Philadelphia but he scored 65.1 DK points the last time he played them. He’s averaging 51.6 fantasy points against Philadelphia over his last three games.
Ben Simmons (8.3k/8.8k), Tobias Harris (7.7k/7.8k), Enes Kanter (7k/6.5k), and Robert Covington (5.9k/6k) are other “upper tier” players that draw consideration.
Guys to keep an eye on if they’re starting are Furkan Korkmaz (3.7k/4.1k) and Gary Trent Jr. (6k/6.4k).
Orlando Magic @ Golden State Warriors
Golden State Pace Rating: 103.1
Orlando Pace Rating: 98.8
Game Total: 223
The Magic travel to the Bay Area to take on the Warriors. I don’t usually like Orlando players outside of Nikola Vucevic (9.4k DraftKings/9.8k FanDuel) and a value guy like Cole Anthony (5.4k/5.4k).
Steph Curry (10.1k/10.5k) is always in play. Sure, he might have an off night or two but there’s pretty much nothing wrong with rostering Curry every night.
I had a rule earlier in the season that I wasn’t playing Draymond Green (6.8k/7.5k) until he strung together multiple good performances. He’s done that, but now his price still makes him a so-so play for me.
Other players drawing consideration from me in this game are Frank Mason III (4k/4.2k), Juan Toscano-Anderson (5.1k/5.2k), and Kelly Oubre Jr. (6.4k/6.5k).
Probable: Gabe Vincent and John Wall.
Questionable: Moe Harkless, OG Anunoby, Yuta Watanabe, Evan Fournier, Cole Anthony, Al-Farouq Aminu, Michael Carter-Williams, and Nassir Little.
Doubtful: Frank Jackson and Shake Milton.
Out: Goran Dragic, Patrick McCaw, Marcus Smart, James Wiseman, Kevin Looney, and Mike Scott.
Damian Lillard (9.8k DK/10k FD) – I spoke about him already but Dame has a thing for going off against Philadelphia. He’s playing at home tonight so I’m expecting another Lillard classic, even in defeat.
Chris Boucher (6k DK/6.4k FD) – Remember the Christmas day games in 2019? That’s the first time Boucher popped on my radar. These days he’s a solid play if he gets the minutes. He’s averaged 28.3 minutes over his last four games and 41 fantasy points over his last three games.
