NBA DFS is a 9-game slate on DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. These are the early morning Top 5 NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to dive into the NBA DFS Rankings, Cash Picks, and Player Pool or the GPP Picks and Player Pool afterward. And of course, the Rise or Fall NBA DFS Projections, ownerships, player ratings, and data are a good place to start for daily fantasy sports.
Top 5 NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – LeBron James, PG/SF, LAL @ UTA O/U 218.5
LeBron James without Anthony Davis? Yes, please! The King has been on a tear since Davis has been out with his calf strain/Achilles tendonitis. LBJ is projected to be the highest-scoring player tonight according to the NBA Study Hub. While the game itself doesn’t grab your attention with its 218.5 implied total we know LeBron likes to step up in big moments. The Jazz possess the best record in the league, so you know James wants to make a statement.
I’d like to point out that in reviewing the “Usage Trends” portion of the NBA Study Hub we can see that no one has a higher usage rate over the last 3 games.
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Dejounte Murray, PG, SAS @ OKC O/U 217
Dejounte Murray is far and away the highest-rated player in the first iteration of the NBA Study Hub. The Spurs are coming off a 10-day layoff so it’ll be up to us to determine if this means they’re rusty or rested. Before the layoff, Murray was hitting his stride averaging nearly 38 DraftKings points over his last five games.
Murray has one of the highest “Rise” percentages in the Study Hub. For the new readers here, the “Rise” percentage is the likelihood a player hits 5.5x value.
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Domantas Sabonis, PF, IND vs GSW O/U 231
Domantas Sabonis will face a Warriors team on the second night of a back-to-back. The Warriors are getting healthier getting back Kevon Looney and James Wiseman, but none of their bigs can matchup with Sabonis.
A few things that stand out in the NBA Study Hub to me about Sabonis is the game total, which is the highest on the slate. This is a pace-up game for the Pacers as the Warriors play at one of the fastest paces in the league. Sabonis is averaging over 58 FanDuel points per game over his last three games. He’s averaging over 38 minutes over his last three-game. Any more questions?
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, SG, OKC vs SAS O/U 217
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will face a Spurs team that, as previously mentioned, is coming off of a 10-day layoff. SGA isn’t the highest projected shooting guard in the NBA Study Hub, that distinction goes to Zach Lavine. However, in the Study Hub’s proprietary Rating system SGA blows LaVine out of the water (113.44 to 87.99).
SGA is averaging over 42 FanDuel points per game over his last 10 games which would put him on par to nearly 6x his NBA DFS salary.
NBA DFS Lineup Winning Pick – Trae Young, PG, ATL vs BOS O/U 225.5
Trae Young is my gut call in this spot tonight. I’ve said before that I like to put guys in this spot that can help take down a tournament and that is exactly what Young can do. We know that when his shot is falling he can’t be guarded because he’s courageous enough to pull up from anywhere.
Young is averaging at least a 50 burger against Boston over their last 3 matchups and I can see him doing that again tonight.
