Welcome to the Team Rise or Fall Free FanDuel and DraftKings NBA DFS picks article. This morning we will highlight some standout Vegas totals, pace ups picks, notable injury news, and my preferred way to pick apart the slate. At the conclusion of the article, we’ll discuss how I plan on handling the slate with the information we have this early in the day. Be mindful that this preview is subject to change as news breaks throughout the day which can and will affect some of these picks.
Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks 232.5 O/U
The Pacers are on the second night of a back-to-back. They demolished Memphis last night as the game wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. Domontas Sabonis ($8.3K DraftKings / $8.8k FanDuel) and Malcolm Brogdon ($8.1k / $8.4k) lead the way in terms of fantasy production. Sabonis and Brogdan will have a tough matchup against their counterparts as Jrue Holiday and Giannis Antetokounmpo are plus defenders.
The Bucks are led by reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11k / $11.2k). He left a sour taste in the mouths of those who rostered him a few nights ago in the blowout of the Trail Blazers. Vegas favors the Bucks by 8 points. You never want to try to predict blowout spots but if the Pacers can’t keep the game close Giannis will again fail to hit value for you. Secondary options are Jrue Holiday ($7.7k / $7.8k) and Khris Middleton ($8.2k / $7.9k). They are tournament only options for me.
Boston Celtics @ Sacramento Kings 226 O/U
The Celtics are also on the second night of a back-to-back after a victory over the Warriors. Jayson Tatum ($8.9k / $9.5k) and Jaylen Brown ($7.9k / $8.7k). They are priced closer to their ceilings so I’m not sure how much interest I’ll have outside of tournaments. However, it is the status of Kemba Walker ($6.5k / $5.7k) that I want to keep an eye on. If Walker was to sit out tonight Jeff Teague ($4.7k / $4.2k) would most likely get the start and provide a nice value piece in a high-scoring matchup.
Sacramento is led by De’Aaron Fox ($8.5k / $8.2k) who is in a great spot with no Marcus Smart on the court to hound him on defense. The Kings are healthy going into tonight’s game with only Nemanja Bjelica on the injury report. The other King having a great start to his season is center Richaun Holmes ($6.4k / $7k). He is priced up but he’s putting up career numbers this season which puts him squarely in play for me.
Washington Wizards @ Miami Heat
Washington Pace Rating: 106.7 – 1st
Miami Pace Rating: 101.1 – 22nd
Surprise, surprise… The Washington Wizards have made the pace up pick section again. They play fast while playing no defense which makes for fantasy goodness. They are on the second night of a back-to-back so we’ll want to watch for any news regarding Russell Westbrook ($9.2k / $10k) and Bradley Beal ($9.7k / $10.8k). If either star sits do not hesitate to lock in the other as their usage would skyrocket.
On the Miami side, I love Jimmy Butler ($8.4k / $8.5k) in this matchup. Since returning from the COVID protocols Butler has put up back-to-back 50-fantasy point games and I can’t imagine why he couldn’t do that again in tonight’s game.
Probable: Goran Dragic, Tyler Herro, Austin Rivers, Nerlens Noel, Otto Porter Jr, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, D’Angelo Russell, Naz Reid, Devin Booker,
Questionable: Terry Rozier, Andre Drummond, Steven Adams,
Out: P.J. Washington, Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter, Patrick Beverley, Larry Nance Jr, John Wall, Karl-Anthony Towns, Marcus Smart
Jimmy Butler – I love Butler in this pace up spot against a team that plays no defense.
Eric Gordon – With John Wall out Gordan should step into the starting lineup and provide scoring for the Rockets and salary relief for DFS.
Rui Hachimura – I want a lot of exposure to this game as you can tell. Rui played great last night and I like him as a bring back to Jimmy Butler.
This is my early look, as news changes throughout the day make sure to check in later and look into our coach’s Building Blocks to help build your lineups!
