Let’s get to the picks!
Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers O/U 228.5
Kawhi Leonard (9.1k DraftKings/9.9k FanDuel) will shoulder the load for the Clippers today with running mate Paul George being sidelined. Kawhi has five 50+ DraftKings point performances in his last eight games including a 55.25 performance against the Kings two weeks ago.
Other Clippers drawing consideration today are Lou Williams (5k/5.5k), Reggie Jackson (4.8k/5k), and Serge Ibaka (5.4k/5.8k).
De’Aaron Fox (8.7k/8.7k) is averaging 29 fantasy points over his last two games against the Clippers. He had a 40 point performance and an 18 point performance. There’s no Pat Beverley for LA today so that could help Fox’s production.
Tyrese Haliburton had two sub-20 games against the Clippers earlier this season. The rookie has been playing really well lately and is definitely in play in a game with a 228.5 implied total. Other Kings on my picks radar include Marvin Bagley III (4.9k/5.2k) and Harrison Barnes (6.6k/6.6k).
Washington Wizards @ Charlotte Hornets
Washington Pace Rating: 103.9
Charlotte Pace Rating: 99.2
Game Total: 235.5
A lot like last season, if we see the Wizards on a slate that’s probably a game we want to target. They have players that can fill up a stat sheet, and their defensive strategy seems to be “Well I bet you won’t make that shot again.”
Bradley Beal (9.3k Draftkings/10.8k FanDuel) has been a beast, even with the trade rumors and general unhappiness surrounding him. Russell Westbrook (8.8k/10.7k) is still doing Westbrook things although he’s always liable to scratched at the last minute.
After the big guns the Wizards don’t have any players projected for over 30 fantasy points. You can take a flyer on guys like Rui Hachimura (5.3k/5.2k), Alex Len (4k/5.5k), or Deni Avdija (4k/3.7k).
The Hornets will be without Devonte’ Graham, and will have to lean on Cody Zeller (6k/5.8k), Gordon Hayward (8k/7.6k), and LaMelo Ball (7.8k/7.8k). Ball’s price tag has increased by nearly 2k over the last week. Hayward’s been the anchor of the team while averaging 40 FanDuel points over his last five games.
The flyer guys for Charlotte are Miles Bridges (5.6k/5k) and Malik Monk (4.4k/4.5k). Good luck using those guys on the right day.
Probable: Jimmy Butler, Gabe Vincent, Daniel Theis, and Abdel Nader.
Questionable: Raul Neto, PJ Washington, and Nerlens Noel.
Doubtful: Jae Crowder.
Out: Devonte’ Graham, Mike Conley, Moe Harkless, Goran Dragic, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Dario Saric, Cameron Payne, Paul George, and Patrick Beverley.
Russell Westbrook (8.9k DK/9.7k FD) – We always want to keep an eye out for Westbrook news, but if he goes, he goes hard. He had an absolutely awful performance his last time out, falling below 20 fantasy points. Look for Russ to stuff the stat sheet in today’s game.
Rudy Gobert (7.3k DK/8.5k FD) – Gobert has been on a bit of a down swing but the Indiana Pacers have the NBA’s 30th ranked defense against the center position. I’m not looking for an offensive explosion from Gobert, but if he does decent scoring that should equal a big night with his rebounds and blocks.
Rui Hachimura (5.3k DK/5.2k FD) – This is one of those picks where you just want to take a chance on a player. The Wizards-Hornets game has the highest implied total on the slate, and Rui’s been playing well enough over his last eight games. I’d say a low to mid 30 point fantasy game is a real possibility for him today.
