NBA DFS is a 7-game slate on DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. These are the early morning Top 5 NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to dive into the NBA DFS Rankings, Cash Picks, and Player Pool or the GPP Picks and Player Pool afterward. And of course, the Rise or Fall NBA DFS Projections, ownerships, player ratings, and data are a good place to start for daily fantasy sports.
Top 5 NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Damian Lillard, PG, POR vs CHA O/U 232.5
Dame Lillard grades out as the second-highest scorer and highest rated player in the NBA Study Hub. Vegas has the Trail Blazers game total pegged at 233.5 implied points. This is also a pace-up game for the Blazers as they face the Hornets who are on the second night of a back-to-back.
Lillard has the highest “Rise” percentage of any $9k plus stud on DraftKings. Rise percentage you ask? It’s the probability of a given player to hit 5.5x value. In the first iteration of the NBA Study Hub, we see that Dame has a 53% chance to hit that number.
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Jarrett Allen, C, CLE @ HOU O/U 216.5
Jarrett Allen has taken full advantage of the Cavaliers icing Andre Drummond. In his last 5 games, we can see in the “Fantasy Points Trends” that as the full-time starting center Allen is averaging 47.95 DraftKings points. He’s playing over 36 minutes per game in that time frame and seeing nearly a 34% usage rate.
It won’t hurt that the Rockets “big” man P.J. Tucker is all of 6’5″ and probably won’t stand a chance of stopping Allen.
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Nikola Jokic, C, DEN @ CHI O/U 226.5
Nikola Jokic is the second highest-projected scorer in the FanDuel portion of the NBA Study Hub. He does carry the largest salary of all the players on the slate. For roster construction purposes it will be contrarian to roster such an expensive player at a position with only one roster spot, especially because of his salary.
While the game total isn’t all that impressive the areas that stand out the most to me in reviewing our NBA Study Hub are Jokic’s last three-game totals in these three areas: fantasy points, minutes, and usage. Jokic is first in fantasy points, second in minutes and third in usage. Add in the fact he capable of putting up a triple-double any time he steps on the court and he’s a fine FanDuel option to pay up for.
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Terry Rozier, SG, CHA @ POR O/U 232.5
Hear me out, we know what the weekend version of NBA DFS has been so far this year. So, to see Terry Rozier lay an egg in a great matchup last night shouldn’t have been overly surprising. However, tonight he’ll get a shot at redemption. Scary Terry is the third-highest rated shooting guard on the slate (behind Eric Gordon and James Harden).
This is a tournament play as the range of outcomes as seen by Rozier can be extremely volatile.
NBA DFS Lineup Winning Pick – James Harden, SG, BKN @ SAS O/U 233.5
James Harden is my tournament play of the night. Harden is the highest-projected scorer in the NBA Study Hub for both DraftKings and FanDuel. The key for him tonight will be the availability of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
The Nets and Spurs both play at a blistering place and play little defense so it may be safe to assume that this is going to be a high-scoring affair which is always great for NBA DFS purposes.
The game has a solid 233.5 implied total with the Nets implied for 119.25 of those points. If Harden is without his two running mates we can see him break the slate.
