Top 5 NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks

DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Damian Lillard, PG, POR vs NO O/U 239.5

Dame is going to be my preferred stud on DraftKings. I love the fact that checks the boxes in the NBA Study Hub that I like to see when I create my lineups. The Vegas implied total to this game is highest on the slate at 239.5. This is also a pace-up game for the Trail Blazers which should lead to a few extra possessions.

In the “Fantasy Points Trends” tab we see that over his last seven games Lillard is averaging 52 DraftKings points which put him near the 5.5x value mark in comparison to his salary. Dame is playing over 37 minutes a game in that time frame as well.

Some may express concern over C.J. McCollum’s return, but I think it’ll help more than hurt. I’m hoping McCollum will attract more defensive attention opening up some better looks for Lillard.

DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Aleksej Pokusevski, SF, OKC @ CHI O/U 225.5

The rookie is coming off his best game as a pro in which he recorded his first career double-double. Al Horford (rest) and Darius Bazley (shoulder) are going to be out again tonight which should lead to more minutes for Pokusevski.

He’s a great value on DraftKings with a salary of only $4.4k which allows you to fit in some of the other studs on the slate. This is supported by the NBA Study Hub which shows his “Rise” rating at 50%. His minutes have swung up to nearly 33 minutes over the Thunder’s last three games.

FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, SG, OKC @ CHI O/U 225.5

SGA is the stud the Thunder will rely on for the majority of their production. He is far and away the highest-rated player on the slate on FanDuel. He has the highest floor/ceiling combination of any shooting guard on the slate.

In the simulation model, he has the highest chance of any of the ‘premium’ shooting guards to hit 6x his salary. I see no reason to ‘Shai’ away from him. #dadjokelife

FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Dwight Howard, C, PHI vs NYK O/U 218

Center is always interesting on FanDuel because you can only roster one center. We’ve seen Dwight Howard fill in admirably for Joel Embiid’s absence a few times this season. However, he isn’t just an automatic lock.

Dwight is splitting time with Tony Bradley who is listed as a power forward on FanDuel and can be used as salary relief as well. They are both playing roughly 20 minutes a night, and neither is a usage monster. They are primarily there to clean the glass and defend the rim.

NBA DFS Lineup Winning Pick – Trae Young, PG, ATL @ HOU O/U 225

Trae Young is my tournament special of the night. He’s in a pace-up game against the lowly Rockets. In his last game against the Rockets, he put up an 80 burger. He hasn’t exactly lit the fantasy world on fire averaging low 40s in fantasy points over his last 5 games.

He such a streaky shooter that if he can get a few to fall he can stoke the fire and keep it going!

NBA DFS Core Builds (Building Blocks)

The NBA DFS Core Builds are also referred to as our NBA DFS Building Blocks. Each staff member identifies the core players they would build their cash or GPP lineup around for both DraftKings and FanDuel. These NBA DFS Picks are basically the Building Blocks of their NBA DFS Lineups.

NBA DFS GPP Pivots (Slate Breakers)

The NBA DFS GPP Pivots is for those chasing glory in DFS tournaments on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The goal here for our staff is to identify a GPP pivot, often a price point pivot away from a chalky player, that could potentially break the slate and win you a tournament. Have you ever seen the guy that is lower-owned and went nuclear in tournaments and you think to yourself, “I should have pivoted to him?”. Our goal is to identify those GPP Pivots.

NBA DFS Picks Rankings

The NBA DFS Picks Rankings will be a staple to your daily fantasy basketball research. This list of players is compiled by a staff member while they are making a player pool for DraftKings and FanDuel. These players then get ranked in the form of Tiered Rankings, which you often see in Fantasy Basketball or Fantasy Football. These Tiered Rankings will help you identify the value in both NBA DFS Cash Games and NBA DFS GPP’s as it shows you who they value more at each position than other players.

NBA DFS Picks and Pools (Cash Games)

The NBA DFS Picks and Pools for Cash Games is clutch for anybody who wants to play those on either FanDuel or DraftKings. These are identified in the Tiered Rankings and player notes. This small list of players gives you a road map to putting together an NBA DFS Lineup each and every night.

NBA DFS Picks and Pools (GPP Priority Picks)

The NBA DFS Picks and Pools for GPP’s is crucial for Single Entry players. This list of priority picks are players with slate winning upside each night. They aren’t just the top projected players, they are picks that take into consideration the Rise or Fall ownership projection, tournament leverage, and daily fantasy basketball roster construction.

NBA DFS Strategy and Player Notes

In the NBA DFS Picks Rankings, there is a section for strategy and player notes. These are written up in the form of analysis for the player and best use of the player for DFS. In addition to the notes, being a part of the Rise or Fall Discord Chat is a fantastic way to discuss Draftkings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft with both members and staff. Everyone is in there picking each other’s brains all day long and enjoying DFS together.
