NBA DFS has six game slates on DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. These are the early morning Top 5 NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to dive into the NBA DFS Rankings, Cash Picks, and Player Pool or the GPP Picks and Player Pool afterward. And of course, the Rise or Fall NBA DFS Projections, ownerships, player ratings, and data are a good place to start for daily fantasy sports.
There is some concern about Harden missing tonight’s game with neck soreness. The Nets are without Kevin Durant (hamstring) and Kyrie Irving (personal matter) already. I can’t see Harden being inactive. The only reason the Beard shouldn’t be locked into your lineups is if he’s inactive, other than that, lock him in and see marvel at his ridiculous usage.
Harden is averaging a monstrous 1.71 DraftKings points per minute this season. We can see in the NBA Study Hub that over his last five games Harden is playing nearly 39 minutes per game and a shade under a 32% usage rate. Those games were all with Kyrie playing alongside him. No Irving tonight should amount to an even bigger bump to his usage.
You know who struggles to stop big men? Brooklyn. You know a big man who can score? Kanter. Kanter is in a smash spot tonight going against a Brooklyn team that plays fast and struggles to guard the center position.
This is a pace-up spot for the Trail Blazers with a game that happens to have the highest implied total on the night at 232.5 points.
In reviewing the NBA Study Hub’s “Fantasy Points Trends” we can see that over his last 10 games Kanter is averaging 30.95 DraftKings points. Kanter is playing just shy of 27 minutes during that 10-game span. He should continue to play in bunches as starter Jusuf Nurkic is still a few weeks away from returning from his broken wrist.
Simmons is the top-rated and a top-three projected scorer at the point guard position over on FanDuel. Though the Vegas total isn’t something that initially stands out (216.5), some other factors make me want a piece of this one. The Sixers and Warriors are both in the top 10 of the league in pace which means this one should be moving up and down quite a bit. As I’ve touched on before in these fast-paced games, I want exposure to players that have the ball in their hands and Simmons fits that description to a tee.
The Sixers are without Joel Embiid which means more usage for Simmons as well. He poses a real threat to triple-double tonight.
We’re going right back to the Sixers here at the center position with Dwight Howard. As a Warriors fan myself I know neither Kevon Looney nor James Wiseman will stop Howard. The only concern I have here is his minutes. He’s been splitting time with Tony Bradley and it been nearly a 50/50 split.
He has been seeing anywhere between 24 and 27 minutes and averaging between 26 to 28 fantasy points since Embiid tweaked his knee. I like him as an option as well due to the savings in salary.
Dame Lillard loves to shine in big games. He’ll get to showcase his talent against the Nets tonight. It’ll be tough to get to Harden and Lillard tonight so this is more of a pivot off Harden than a play to go alongside Harden.
The last time these two teams met Lillard went nuclear, putting up 72.75 DraftKings / 68.6 FanDuel points. This was without C.J. McCollum, but I wouldn’t hesitate to lock in Lillard as I think McCollum’s return should open up the floor for Lillard to see some better looks.
