Top 5 NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – Zion Williamson, PF/C, NO @ BKN O/U 233
We get Zion in a prime spot against the Brooklyn Nets. This will be a substantial pace-up spot for the Pels who play at one of the slower paces in the league. We’re all familiar with the Net’s struggles defending big men. Kevin Durant is back for this game but I don’t see him being able to defend Zion in the post, neither should the ghost of Blake Griffin or LaMarcus Aldridge. The Nets will try to outscore New Orleans which should make this a high-scoring affair which is apparent by the Vegas total.
Over Williamson’s last five games he’s seeing just shy of 33 minutes, scoring 33.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. I love him tonight.
DraftKings NBA DFS Target – D’Angelo Russell, SG, MIN @ IND O/U 232.5
This pick is a little off the board. Russell has returned from a long layoff due to injury but looked great in his first game back. Coming off the bench he scored 25 points in 24 minutes. Tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers has the second-highest total on the slate (only the Brooklyn vs New Orleans game is higher). I would like to keep an eye on his status for tonight but I much prefer him coming off the bench and not competing with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards for usage.
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Nikola Jokic, C, DEN vs SA. O/U 222
The best big man in the league is not the highest-priced center on the slate – this blows my mind. I’ll continue to hammer Jokic into my lineups whenever possible. The man is a walking triple-double even in limited minutes. In his last game against the Detroit Pistons her only played 27 minutes and was 2 rebounds shy of a triple-double. He is also good for a couple blocks and steals each game. I have no qualms about paying up for Jokic.
FanDuel NBA DFS Target – Cole Anthony, PG, ORL vs WAS, O/U 222
This is another off the map play, Cole Anthony. I’ve been reading reports that the rookie is ready to play tonight but hasn’t quite received clearance from Orlando’s medical team. It’s been over a month since he’s played due to a rib injury but with the teams moving toward developing their youth I’d imagine he’s getting good run tonight. The other point guard on the roster is dusty Michael Carter-Williams. I see no reason why he’d get more run than Anthony. We also want to factor in that they face the Washington Wizards who play at the fastest pace in the league
NBA DFS Lineup Winning Pick – Kyrie Irving, PG, BKN vs NO, O/U 233
My tournament play of the night goes to Kyrie Irving. Irving does get to play with Durant tonight but I’m expecting Durant to be on a minutes limit. James Harden is out with a hamstring issue now. He’s seeing massive minutes averaging north of 35 minutes over his last five games. In his last game, he put up 40 real-life points without Durant and losing Harden a few minutes into the game. I’m expecting him to take 20+ shots and play more than 32 minutes. I love his upside tonight.
