FINALLY! It is April 1st and spring is on its way for us mid-westerners! For those of you on the West Coast or in Florida skip ahead to the next paragraph. April has long been my second favorite month. It means a change in weather! It means baseball is right around the corner. It means my birthday is close. It also means a change in attitude for a lot of us.
Those of us in Michigan deal with cold, snowy, and gloomy gray days for several months. Just the idea of April and spring is enough to perk some of us up! It is also April Fool’s Day. Realistically, every day on social media is a fool’s day. Be careful, be safe, and enjoy yourself! It is Friday after all!

There are seven strong games on tonight’s hockey schedule. I could’ve made a case for each game, but we would be here all day! Here are three of my favorite stacks along with a bonus stack from Beastie herself! Let’s dig in!
ARIZONA COYOTES L1 vs. Anaheim Mighty Ducks
Nick Schmaltz L1 & PP1(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,200)
Nick Ritchie L1 & PP1(FD-$4,000)(DK-$2,500)
Michael Carcone L1(FD-$3,300)(DK-$2,500)
Arizona is looking to start a little winning streak tonight, at home, as they host the Ducks! The Yotes are last in the Central with an overall record of 21-41-5 and 47 points. Goes without saying but the Coyotes have been eliminated from playoff contention. Arizona defeated the Sharks on Wednesday 5-2, which snapped a nasty six-game losing streak! If you remember correctly, I had projected Arizona and San Jose to put up 10+ goals. Close, but no cigar!
Mr. Clayton Keller is still leading the Coyotes in just about every offensive statistical category. Keller has scored 28 goals to go along with 35 assists and has accumulated 63 points. Unfortunately, Keller broke his leg and had surgery to repair it. He will now miss the rest of the season. Arizona is scoring, on average, 2.60 goals a game and is allowing around 3.60 goals a game. The Ducks are scoring, on average, 2.75 goals a game while allowing 3.20 goals a contest.
Should be a good one here in the desert tonight! The Yotes win and hang 5 goals. Final score 5-2! With a new-look first line, that is cheap, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger! What is the worst that could happen? We have fun watching the Yotes first line go nuts at 0.5% ownership!?
Like it or not Arizona wins, at home, tonight! The final score will be 4-2!
OTTAWA SENATORS L1 at Detroit Red Wings
Josh Norris L1 & PP2(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,900)
Brady Tkachuck L1 & PP1(FD-$6,900)(DK-$6,100)
Drake Batherson L1 & PP1(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,600)
I never want to be accused of being a homer and letting that hinder my content! Case in point, stacking up the Senators tonight! Ottawa heads to Detroit this evening to skate with the Wings! The Sens enter this one at 23–37–6 overall and well, have not played well. Losing four out of their last five games will do that. They have also only scored three total goals in their last few road games.
All is not lost though tonight in Detroit. The Wings are bad news on defense and are currently allowing opposing teams to score, on average, 3.80 goals a game. It’s just that simple! Brady Tkachuk is leading Ottawa in points(47) and in assists(24). Josh Norris has the edge in goals with 26 in comparison to Brady’s 23. Furthermore, 13 of Norris’ assists have come on the power play.
To make matters worse the Red Wings are 2-11 straight up in their last 13 games. The total has also gone under in 9 of Detroit’s last 13 games against Ottawa. I could go on and on about horrible betting trends for both teams, but I will leave you with those two! Unless you’re a true hockey freak this game will not be on anybody’s radar. Let’s stack the Senator’s first line and throw a wrench in the DFS shark’s plans!
Should be an exciting fast-paced game! Ottawa will prevail! The final score will be 5-3!
ST. LOUIS BLUES L2 at Edmonton Oilers
Robert Thomas L2 & PP2(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,100)
Pavel Buchnevich L2 & PP2(FD-$6,200)(DK-$5,300)
Vladimir Tarasenko L2 & PP2(FD-$7,800)(DK-$6,800)
ONE-OFF ALERT! Jordan Kyrou GTD(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,700)
The Blues skate into Edmonton with an overall record of 37-20-9 and have won three out of their last five games! Their only two losses were against Carolina and Philadelphia. In their last five games, the Blues have scored 14 total goals which only averages out to be 2.8 goals a game. However, St. Louis has scored 4 total goals in back-to-back games.
Jordan Kyrou is leading the Blues in points with 62, assists(40), in addition to 22 total goals. While 11 of those scores have been on the power play. Vlad Tarasenko is leading St. Louis in goals with 23. While only five have been on the power play. Vlad loves to shoot the puck and has logged 187 shots on goal. You will notice it is lower than the likes of Ovi or McDavid because Tarasenko missed some time mid-season.
Check this out! The Oilers are scoring about 3.40 goals a game while the Blues are scoring, on average, 3.50 goals a game! Edmonton is allowing 3.20 goals a game while St. Louis is allowing 2.90 goals a game! So, what this tells me is that these two teams are going to battle tonight! I am looking forward to this game tonight!
The total has gone over in 5 of St. Louis’ last 6 games! The total has gone over in 5 of Edmonton’s last 5 games. BET THE OVER!
I like St. Louis to win in Edmonton tonight! The final score will be 5-3!

NEW YORK ISLANDERS L1 at New York Rangers
Brock Nelson L1 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$6,000)
Anders Lee L1 & PP1(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,200)
Anthony Beauvillier L1 & PP2(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,100)
The battle for New York hockey supremacy is tonight at 7p in Madison Square Garden! What kind of fool would I be to ditch out on the islanders after their last first games? This first is clicking and skating well together. The Rangers are tough on home ice! They have only lost six times in Madison Square Garden. The Isles have their work cut out for them!
No bet, no DFS line, and no player combo is a sure thing. However, I have no issue placing all my chips in on the Islander’s first line! The Rangers are 22-7 in their last 29 home games. The Rangers are also 24-9 in their last 33 games as a home favorite. Numbers and trends like this make my mouth water. They paint such a strong picture and move the needle so far over in one direction that they are just begging me to go against it all! If you’re with me here tonight with the Isles let’s roll!
The New York Islanders defy the odds tonight and beat the Rangers! The final score is 4-2!
