Bottom of the Barrel Week 14 Tight Ends NFL DFS Breakdown

December 10, 2022

There are always a few odd things we hear happen once the NFL season starts its last quarter. One, good teams with large point spreads become layups. Two, bad teams often lay down and die. Third, the seasonal fantasy football players flock back to daily fantasy sports. What does all this mean?

What we thought were sure things turned into astronomically complex puzzles. The Cowboys giving 17 points to the Houston Texans on Sunday is not a slam dunk. The Steelers laying down to die against the Ravens will never happen, ever. We are in for one heck of a finish this season!

The only thing we can count on is the seasonal fantasy football folks making their way back to DFS formats. If that is you then, hello! Welcome back! Let’s dig into Week 14 of the NFL season!

I’ll get into all the details after a quick note about our new membership options! 😺

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce KC @ DEN(13th)(FD-$8,000)(DK-$7,600)(Y!-$36)

The King of Kings not only at tight end but across the board in football and fantasy football! Kansas City is about to hang 35+ points on the Broncos Sunday. Kelce is good for 7-8 receptions, 80 yards, and at least one touchdown in this one. Fade at your own risk!

Greg Dulich DEN vs. KC(11th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,400)(Y!-$13)

I do not get the fascination with the Broncos rookie TE, Greg Dulich. Denver’s offense in general has been flat out bad. However, Greg was a bright spot last week as he saw seven targets on 22 routes ran. On top of all the that the Chiefs defense against opposing TEs is allowing only 10.7 fantasy points per game. The only reason why Greg is on this list is based on the fact the Broncos are going to get wailed on therefore, Russ will look to dump off or throw the ball in general. I have Dulich at 5-6 targets, 3-4 receptions, and 40 total yards.

Evan Engram JAX @ TEN(19th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,300)(Y!-$11)

May come as no shocker but I love this game from start to finish for the Titans. Is Tennessee that much better than Jacksonville? Their records say yes but I think the Jaguars put up a fight in this one. Meaning, an all day pounding from King Henry can lend itself to some Engram open in the endzone action! Nothing crazy but let’s expect 3-4 receptions and close to 40 yards.

Chig Okonkwo TEN vs. JAX(16th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$2,700)(Y!-$10)

Offensive coordinator Todd Downing said Thursday that Okonkwo has earned more opportunities, and the Titans have looked at drawing up more ways to get him the football, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. I like the sound of that! We all know Hooper, as of now, is the TE1 in this offense but Chig can still boost our DFS lines on Sunday! Chig currently leads all NFL tight ends with three 40-yard receptions this season! Still slightly under the radar better jump on the bus now! It is about to get full!

Jordan Bellinger NYG vs. PHI(7th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,300)(Y!-$11)

If you haven’t noticed yet I love using tight ends on teams that may be in over their heads on Sunday. The Eagles should do well with moving the football and scoring points leaving Daniel Jones and the Giants chasing points. Bellinger should see a steady dose of targets in this one leaving him as nice punt option in Week 14. I’m a little ambitious with his projections but I have him around 5-6 targets, 4-5 receptions, and 35-40 yards.

Jack Stoll PHI @ NYG(23rd)(FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,800)(Y!-$10)

On the opposing sideline in New York on Sunday we get Mr. Jack Stoll! Jack set season highs in targets, receptions, and yards in Week 13, grabbing all three of his targets for 41 yards. Might not be huge news to you but if you’re a tight end punter like me in DFS formats then it is an outstanding nugget of information! Cheap TE on a great team, check. Eagles have a high team implied point total of 26, check. Opposing team is bad against defending TEs, check. As you can see everything checks out!

Isaiah Likely BAL @ PIT(17th)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$2,700)(Y!-$10)

Maybe I am crazy but over the years I have done a few weird things in DFS formats. One of which is using the backup players at TE and WR when the starting QB that week is, in fact, the backup. The whole backups practice with backups rationale. Tyler Huntley has proven to be a capable backup QB. While Isaiah Likely has proven to be a solid TE when called upon! No way this conservative Ravens offense goes flat against the Steelers. Look for some fast-paced play calls early on as they settle into a nice rhythm.
