Patrick Mahomes KC @ HOU(1st)(FD-$9,100)(DK-$8,100)(Y!-$35)
What more can we say about Pat? Last Sunday the Chiefs got up big, quickly. Yet the Bronco showed some heart and made a game of it. Yet, Kansas City did win as they scored 34 points. Mahomes tossed his regular three touchdowns and a ho-hum 352 yards but also three interceptions! As we turn our attention to Week 15, the Texans are up next. Look, Houston is an awful 1-11-1 but gave the Cowboys a run for their money last week. In no way am I predicting an upset, but I could see a case where they push the Chiefs enough to make a monster out of Patrick. I am thinking 24-25 completions, 310+ yards, three touchdowns, and another 25 yards on the ground. Do not let that 1st overall DvP fool you, KC wins big.
Dak Prescott DAL @ JAX(25th)(FD-$7,500)(DK-$6,200)(Y!-$31)
I will be short and sweet here. Daks’ performance last week against the Texans rubbed a lot of Cowboy fans the wrong way. The tweets were flying about his ineptitude and ineffectiveness against a seemingly hapless Houston team. Dak almost blew the entire thing for Dallas but came up big, at the end, when it counted most. Wound up being Prescott’s 18th career late-game comeback. Now we need to discuss and/or choose what he does next against the Jaguars. All the mistakes of last week are history as Dallas gets a plum match-up against the Jags. We should expect around 20 completions, 230 passing yards, another 15 on the ground, and a pair of touchdown passes.
Jared Goff DET @ NYJ(8th)(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,700)(Y!-$25)
Not an ideal matchup for Jared Goff and the Lions but sometimes momentum trumps everything. Goff completed 27 of 39 pass attempts for 330 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Vikings. Jared continues to stand in the pocket and fire away. This Detroit Lions offense is rolling right now while the Jets are slumping having lost four of their last six games. Goff ranks eighth in passing yards and fifth in touchdowns! Look for the Lions to hang around 30 points while Goff delivers 250 passing yards with another pair of touchdown passes! I also believe the DvP here will chase some folks away from using him in DFS formats. Nope, let’s ride this wave!
Mike White NYJ vs. DET(32nd)(FD-$7,000)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$34)
Mike White took a beating on Sunday against the Bills but continued. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution but was able to travel home with the team. Regardless of his status on Sunday this guy deserves a huge shout out. The Jets started the season hot then made the QB change and now find themselves on shaky playoff ground. If Mr. White is active and starting on Sunday, he deserves our attention. A quarterback who plays with this much heart cannot be denied. It also helps that the Lions are dead last in defending opposing quarterback. Keep an eye on his status prior to 1p lock on Sunday. As it stands now, I have Mike penciled in for 22-23 completions, 290 passing yards, 2-3 carries for 10 yards, and two touchdown passes
Ryan Tannehill TEN @ LAC(20th)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,300)(Y!-$23)
I was stuck between mentioning Derek Carr or Ryan Tannehill in this spot. Realistically, both guys have been subpar as of late. So, I ran down my quarterback DFS checklist and Tanny beat Carr by a few points. First off, the Chargers have been absolutely decimated by injuries on their defense. I am aware Derwin James is day-to-day and even Joey Bosa may be activated sometime this week but the idea of King Henry pounding the ball while Tannehill just needs to manage the game doesn’t feel right. At such a cheap price we don’t need a lot from Ryan. I would even settle for some dink-and-dunking action. If Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook, Hooper, and Chig are active and alive I see a chance here for the Titans and Tannehill. Let’s say 20-21 completions, 230 passing yards, 3-4 carries, 15 yards, and two touchdowns is all it’ll take! Are you with me?
Sam Darnold CAR vs. PIT(23rd)(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$24)
Who knew Chuba Hubbard, and D’Onta Foreman would turn into one heck of running back combination? The way they mix-and-match them series to series has been interesting! In the meantime, Darnold has led the Panthers to back-to-back wins and only one game back from the NFC South lead! I know what you’re thinking right now. This is the silliest idea of all time. No way will Sam do anything of note in Week 15. First, I have had way crazier ideas than this! Second, 200 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, and two touchdowns would be beautiful! His price on all formats allows us to really spend up at the running back position. Like a Derrick Henry and Miles Sanders combo for example. Meaning, Sam doesn’t have to break the slate for us to cash. Let’s give it a shot. What is the worst that could happen?
Desmond Ridder ATL @ NO(19th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,200)(Y!-$21)
I am not expecting a breakout game by any means, but I do think we will see a nice NFC South fight in this one! The Falcons are 5-8. The Panthers are 5-8. The New Orleans Saints are 4-9. While Tampa Bay is leading the NFC South at 6-7. Still a ton of time left, in this division, at least. Another game this week that might be tossed aside by most folks but could wind up being fun and down to the wire! When we look at Ridder what can we say? Atlanta is a run heavy kind of offense so I would only expect around 25 total passing attempts. What I am after here is smart decision making and rushing yards. Let’s take a shot! The ole beginners luck type of mentality!
