Bottom of the Barrel Week 15 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown

Bottom of the Barrel Week 18 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown

Bottom of the Barrel Week 15 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown

December 16, 2022

Just so we are clear this part of the season is why I decided to write this article. This part of the season is why playing daily fantasy sports is so fun. Anything can happen. Just when we think we’ve seen it all something else wild happens. I live for this part of the NFL season!

The idea of not knowing or scrounging for scrapes is right where I feel comfortable! It’s not an idea of specific players but players in specific settings i.e., game scripts! Guys are injured. Some guys are playing hurt. It lends itself to that next man up mentality. As a true blue DFS player it is up to us to figure out where the extra targets and touches will come from. Come up with a plan, make a choice, and stick with it!

Main slate is an odd one, but it is good! We also get the luxury of three games on Saturday. Leaving ten total games on Sunday. If we play our cards right, we could be in for some huge winnings!

I’ll get into all the details after a quick note about our new membership options! 😺

We recently added membership options for Individual Sports here at Rise or Fall. If you wanted to subscribe to NFL Monthly or NFL Weekly without access to any of the other sports you now have that option!

All memberships come with Discord access, but, only the Monthly All Access for $39.99 comes with a $20 monthly credit to Fantasy Cruncher.

Wide Receivers

Ja’Marr Chase CIN @ TB(13th)(FD-$9,000)(DK-$8,300)(Y!-$31)

Hip injury be damned this kid is a stud. Chase has averaged around 109 yards a game since returning from injury. No shocker he’s the most expensive wide-out on the Sunday Main DFS slate. The Buccaneer’s secondary isn’t a cake walk but a few big plays should be in the cards and help us over that hump of value per price tag equation! Let’s count on 9-10 targets, 6-7 receptions, 95 yards, and a touchdown. Ho-ho-ho now I have Ja’Marr in my DFS lines.

Joshua Palmer LAC vs. TEN(32nd)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,600)(Y!-$20)

This kid cannot be denied and is now a steady part of this Chargers offense. Through all the ups and downs of the Keenan Allen and Mike Williams injury saga Palmer has been a trusted source of offense. Now we get the pay off! The Titans are dead last against defending opposing wide receivers and will have their hands full with this crew! Herbert, Ekeler, Keenan, Williams, and Palmer should run wild here! I have the Chargers to score around 24 points while Josh sees 6-7 targets, catches 4-5 of them, and puts up 50, or more, yards. Truth be told, Mr. Palmer ownership in my DFS lines is going to be high, high, and high!

Drake London ATL @ NO(18th)(FD-$6,300)(DK-$4,700)(Y!-$15)

This kid has so much potential, and we keep waiting for an explosion of points. The idea of Atlanta coming off their bye week and making a change at QB could be the boost he needs! I also expect this Falcons at Saints game to be outstanding and down to the wire. Meaning we get a full game of meaningful reps for not only Drake but the rest of the Falcons offense. Most projections for Drake this week aren’t exactly friendly but with it being the holiday season let’s be a little nicer. I have Drake around 6-7 targets, 4-5 receptions, 50 yards, and a touchdown!

George Pickens PIT @ CAR(25th)(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,000)(Y!-$13)

Look, George has sleigh full of talent, but the uneasy quarterback play has us a little skeptical. For example, last week Pickens nabbed all three of his targets for 78 yards. With some simple math that is 26 yards even per catch. On the season George is averaging 14.8 yards per reception. One of these weeks, before seasons end, Pickens is going to go off. I mean 150+ yards with a pair of touchdowns. Not exactly predicting that this week in Carolina but I would rather spend the money and have him on my roster than watch him go wild and feel sick.

Michael Gallup DAL @ JAX(24th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,500)(Y!-$13)

In seasonal formats Gallup is considered a touchdown dependent wide receiver. In daily fantasy sports formats that is considered a sneaky play. The decision making of Dak has come into question as of late, but the Cowboys defense is so good that it minimizes the mistakes of the offense. When we dig a little on Gallup this week everything is checking out. His price tag is nice. The opposing defensive match-up is nice. The team implied point total for Dallas this week is nice. The Jaguars secondary can be punctured easily. Leaving Gallup and Lamb in a beautiful spot! I have Michael at 6-7 targets, 3-4 receptions, 50 yards, and a touchdown!

Elijah Moore NYJ vs. DET(29th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$3,600)(Y!-$14)

The Jets will be battling the Detroit Lions on Sunday and I couldn’t be more excited if I tried! Personal opinions aside, Elijah should be very active here. Word just came out that Mike White will not play in Week 15. The Jets are giving Zach Wilson another chance under center. With all the hoopla and/or confusion I foresee folks fading the Jets offense all together. Rookie Garrett Wilson and Zach Wilson have shown some real promise but where does that leave Moore? We shall see what these last few weeks off and, on the bench, have done for Zach. It would benefit him to target Elijah Moore. Regardless of what the mainstream New York media says about him the opposing defense does have a few holes. Has this kid learned anything? We shall see. Look for Moore to be targeted 5-6 times, catch 3-4 balls, and hang 50 yards. Even one big play of 40, or more yards, would be a success.

Jarvis Landry NO vs. ATL(27th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$3,800)(Y-$12)

Not too sure when it happened but I am now all in on this Falcons at Saints football game. Correct me if I am wrong but we all have those little quips or stories about our favorite football team. Or a time where one player carried us over the finish line that we are forever thankful for. I have those feelings for Mr. Jarvis Landry. Will leave the story alone seeing how this blurb is not about me. It is about why we should use Jarvis! Unfortunately, the Saints haven’t been using Landry as much as we’d like to hold water in DFS formats. Yet, this week, at home, they will need him. New Orleans will need to be firing on all cylinders to beat Atlanta. Regardless of the final score I have a vintage game for Jarvis. Around 6-7 targets, 5-6 receptions, 50 yards, and a touchdown. By vintage I mean moving the chains and popping up excitedly. Should be a blast!

Rashid Shaheed NO vs. ATL(27th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$11)

All about the big play with Rashid! We do not need to discuss volume, usage, or offensive snap count here. Shaheed isn’t that kind of wide-out. We roster him, at a low cost, looking a big play or two. Shaheed is currently averaging 19.9 yards a catch. Upon closer look that ranks towards the top of the list in that category. Maybe I am exaggerating given the expectations, but I have Rashid at 3-4 targets, 2-3 receptions and 59.7 yards. Very specific but all I did was multiply 19.9 times three! Best case scenario but it’s Week 15 and Christmas is soon.

Nelson Agholor NE @ LV(19th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,400)(Y!-$10)

Unfortunately, don’t think DeVante Parker plays on Sunday after sustaining a concussion in Week 14. I am aware Mac Jones rarely throws touchdowns. Not at all what you want from a starting quarterback. However, Las Vegas has a leaky secondary. Las Vegas also has one heck of a pass rush leading me to believe the time from snap to pass will have to be fast! Leaving Nelson around to see an unusually high number of targets. What he does with those targets is up in the air. I find Agholor to be worth the risk and a nice lineup filler with some upside.

Amari Rodgers HOU vs. KC(31st)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$10)

Complete flyer here with Amari but it makes sense. The Chiefs should steamroll the Texans something like 38-14. Meaning, Houston should be throwing, throwing, and throwing. As odd as it sounds Rodgers will probably be working with both Davis Mills and cake boy Jeff Driskel. I have Rodgers around 5-6 targets, 3-4 receptions, and about 50 yards. The cheapest of cheap and we do not need much to hit value.
