Bottom of the Barrel Week 6

Anger is a powerful emotion. If used correctly it could be fuel on the productive fire. In most cases, it’s used as an awful tool to hurt others. Capturing anger and bottling it up is rarely beneficial. Dare I say, next to impossible!
Humans are creatures of habit. Repetition is so ingrained in the human mind that some will perform tasks without even realizing it. Therapy and psychology can be used for many specific reasons. The idea of therapy is to inevitably train your brain and change certain behaviors.
It all comes down to what direction you want to go. The idea of getting help and talking about your problems with a professional should not be taboo. Wanting to seek help and looking for an easier softer way should be celebrated.
Week 6 of the NFL season is upon us. Never let someone tell you how it should be. Go forward in confidence always wanting to seek peace and comfort.
Bottom of the Barrel Week 6 NFL DFS Breakdown
QUARTERBACK
Patrick Mahomes KC @ WSH(32nd)(FD-$9,000)(DK-$8,300)(Y!-$40)

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) celebrates after his third touchdown pass of the game during the first half of an NFL football game against the San Francisco 49ers in Kansas City, Mo., Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. Mahomes’ TDs surpass Peyton Manning for the most pass TDs by a quarterback in his team’s first three games of the season in NFL history. (AP Photo/Charlie Riedel)
Does anyone think the Chiefs are about to go on some wild off the rails tear? Speculation aside, the Kansas City defense is awful. Meaning, Mahomes and the offense will constantly be pushing the ball. The health of Tyreek Hill isn’t really in question but I can see few surprises in this one!
Here are some of my cheaper favorites at QB in Week 6!
Taylor Heinicke WSH v KC(31st)(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,800)(Y!-$28)
Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke
Heinicke has thrown eight touchdown passes while completing 102 of his 159 pass attempts for 1,208 yards. While he was not accountable for any touchdowns in Week 5 but has a chance to return dividends against an awful Chiefs defense! Another game where the masses are leaning one way and we should be thinking the opposite. Let’s stack the Washington Football Team! Who’s with me?
Carson Wentz IND v HOU(28th)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$25)
Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz
Correct me if I am wrong but Wentz looked good on Monday night! Looking ahead to Week 6 the Colts and Carson Wentz should be able to work out the kinks on the fly. No one is mentioning how the Texans can also sling the ball setting up a back-and-forth between the two. The over/under in Indy on Sunday is only at forty-three total points. Meaning, a large portion of people will be fading completely.
Davis Mills HOU @ IND(20th)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,200)(Y!-$21)
Teddy Bridgewater DEN v LV(8th)(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,700)(Y!-$25)
Denver Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater
Was happy to see Teddy get over the concussion hump and play well in Week 5. Teddy Bridgewater was 24-of-38 for 288 yards, two touchdowns. Was great to see Teddy B push the team in the 4th quarter. Although Denver didn’t win it was a good sign. In Week 6 the Las Vegas Raiders come to town chalked with distractions and turmoil. Look for the Broncos to push the pace and hammer it home. Teddy is a great play in all formats!
Mac Jones NE v DAL(30th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,200)(Y!-$26)
New England Patriots rookie QB Mac Jones
Look, the Cowboys are hotter than fish grease, but I believe there is some value in Mac and the other Patriots Sunday. As I have always said, I do not care who wins the game. Just put up some points. The Cowboys will hang 30+ points forcing Mac and Bill to match the energy.
Justin Fields CHI v GB(19th)(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$20)
Chicago Bears rookie QB Justin Fields
I have no idea what to do with any Chicago Bears player. Just wait until you scroll down to the wide receivers. At this point, Fields is just too dang cheap to ignore. Let’s say the Packers pour it on. Not hard to visualize but this lame brain coaching staff will have to adjust. Maybe, just maybe, Fields finds his mojo in a blowout. Thus, showing the coaching staff what he can do left to his own devices and instincts.
Ben Roethlisberger PIT v SEA(23rd)(FD-$7,100)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$23)
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger
I was wrong about Ben and the Steelers in Week 5. Roethlisberger did not fall flat on his face. He rose from the ashes and tossed 253 yards with two touchdowns in a 27-19 win over the Broncos in Week 5. In seasonal formats no way! However, sign me up for DFS purposes in Week 6! No, Russ Wilson, Chris Carson is questionable, and an overall reeling franchise has all the makings of a juicy Steelers point parade.

RUNNING BACK
Christian McCaffrey CAR v MIN(18th)(FD-$10,000)(DK-$8,800)(Y!-$38)
Let’s dig into some lowly priced running backs who can complement our rosters well!
Tony Pollard DAL @ NE(14th)(FD-$6,000)(DK-$5,600)(Y!-$17)
Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard will continue to be a value in DFS formats.
Tony Pollard rushed 14 times for 75 yards and caught all four of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday’s win over the Giants. The idea of Zeke and Pollard as a one-two punch is becoming more and more appetizing! I have long said Pollard has stand-alone value and in a game like this one, I’d expect another double-digit carry performance from Tony!
Devontae Booker NYG v LAR(23rd)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$12)
NYG new RB1 Devonte Booker due to injuries.
At this point, I’m not too sure how the Giants will field an offense in Week 6. A little overdramatic of me but it leaves the door wide open for Booker! After Barkley exited the game with an ankle injury Devontae saw 16 carries and caught 3 of 4 targets against the Cowboys. At this point, Booker may become a tad chalky given the bad news.
Chris Evans CIN @ DET(31st)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$5,700)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$10)
The Bengals would be wise to work in rookie RB Chris Evans while Joe Mixon nurses an ankle injury.
When I sat down to write my Bottom of the Barrel Week 6 notes, I had originally written down Samaje Perine. Come to find out Perine is now on the COVID-IR. Assuming his vaccination status, symptoms, and upcoming test results are all clear he could play. However, I just don’t see it happening. Leaving Evans as the direct running back to Joe Mixon. Who is not 100%?
Jamaal Williams DET v CIN(12th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,900)(Y!-$17)
Detroit Lions RB Jamaal Williams
Jamaal and Swift continue to carry a balanced workload. In Week 5 Williams carried the ball two more times than Swift Sunday in Minnesota. The Lions continue to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No one really cares in fantasy football. However, in the DFS world, each back continues to produce!
Javonte Williams DEN v LV(16th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$5,000)(Y!-$18)
Bronco’s rookie RB Javonte Williams will continue to show us what he is made of!
The streak lives! If you are new to Bottom of the Barrel thank you for reading. If you’re a B&B fan, then you know the deal! Jokes aside, this Denver backfield has been exactly as we thought it would. Which, in a good way is nice. We can count on 12 or 13 touches a game for J-Will. However, Javonte has shown more power, burst, and extraordinary tackle-breaking ability.
Sony Michel LAR @ NYG(17th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,300)(Y!-$15)
LA Rams RB Sony Michel
The fantasy football community is so quick to judge. They are also quick to bury a player. Sony Michel is alive and well! Sony carried the ball 11 times for 37 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. Lead back D. Henderson exited the game briefly with an injury but did return. In the meantime, Sony stole a touchdown! Regardless, I have no issue paying for Sony Michel in Week 6. The few times Sony has been given the ball he has eaten up some yardage. Maybe I sound silly but I’m willing to take the risk on Sunday!
Khalil Herbert CHI v GB(15th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,600)(Y!-$14)
With the unfortunate injury to David Montgomery expect rookie RB Khalil Herbert to be mixed in more!
Not here to toot my own horn but mentioning Khalil in last week’s Bottom of the Barrel was a great move! The rookie went on to see 18 carries! I see no reason why the Bears don’t give the rookie more run in a tough divisional match-up with the Packers!
AJ Dillon GB @ CHI(11th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,900)(Y!-$11)
Green Bay Packers RB AJ Dillon should start to see more work as the season moves along.
Dillon has seen more work as the season has progressed. He is no doubt in the Packer’s plans each week. As Green Bay continues to win, we can all expect AJ’s volume to rise.
David Johnson HOU @ IND(8th)(FD-$5,200)(Dk-$4,600)(Y!-$11)
Houston Texans RB David Johnson
Shocking right? To be fair, DJ hasn’t been on my radar in a long time. In Week 5 David handled the ball 8 times. Didn’t do much with his carries but the work is there. Somehow from then to now, I am realizing Johnson shouldn’t be on your DFS radar. However, Baltimore shredded the Colts with their pass-catching backs. If the Texans can somehow work DJ in on running routes we have a chance here!
Nyheim Hines IND v HOU(24th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$4,800)(Y!-$16)
Colts RB Nyheim Hines
I am aware Hines wasn’t very involved on Monday night in Baltimore. I’m chalking it up to game script and the high-level Jonathan Taylor was playing. So, what’s my point? I fully expect the Colts to have their way with the Texans on Sunday. DFS is about picking our spots. I am picking Nyheim Hines Sunday vs Houston!
Rhamondre Stevenson NE v DAL(6th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$4,500)(Y!-$13)
If Harris isn’t able to go in Week 6 look for Stevenson to grab the reings.
The New England Patriots running backs have always been maddening! So why mention Rhamondre? Damien Harris is currently dealing with a rib/chest injury. I firmly believe the rookie could see some major run in D. Harris’s absence. Keep an eye out for practice reports!
WIDE RECEIVER
Tyreek Hill KC @ WSH(27th)(FD-$8,700)(DK-$8,500)(Y!-$38)
Kansas City speedster Tyreek Hill
A minor knee injury forced Hill from the game in the third quarter. By all accounts all is well. Tyreek will not miss any time. Wheels up in Washington Sunday!
Here are some sneakily priced wide receivers to get us over the hump in Week 6!
Kadarius Toney NYG v LAR(18th)(FD-$6,000)(DK-$5,600)(Y!-$16)
New York Giants rookie WR Kadarius Toney has finally come alive!
13 targets, 10 receptions, and 189 yards. A headbutt, one thrown punch, and an ejection.
Allen Robinson II CHI v GB(9th)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,300)(Y!-$16)
Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson II has to bust out at some point!
My oh my have the mighty fallen. $6,000 has always been the threshold for players in Bottom of the Barrel. Realistically, what the heck are we going to do with A-Rob? In seasonal formats that left for another day, article, and broadcast. To me, Allen is better suited on our DFS rosters in Week 6. As always, I’d rather the breakout game happen IN our DFS lines than left kicking ourselves about it. Plus, do you remember when Saquon Barkley made the article a few weeks back? Barkley had two good games in a row! Never mind the swollen ankle. I wish him the best but getting the B&B bump has turned into a real thing!
Jakobi Meyers NE v DAL(30th)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$5,500)(Y!-$17)
New England Patriot’s WR Jakobi Meyers.
Meyers trailed only Hunter Henry in targets, receptions, and yardage. The match-up was so sweet too. Remember how we pick our spots? This is the week to get Meyers in your lineups! The Cowboys gave up 379 yards and 28 total points in Week 5!
Rondale Moore ARZ @ CLE(6th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,600)(Y!-$17)
Cardinals rookie WR Rondale Moore has looked dang good!
The beauty with Rondale is the fact opposing defenses must be accountable for Hopkins. Which lets the rookie roam free more times than not? When you mix in the play extending the ability of Kyler Murray it’s all good! Moore has shown an ability to separate and even come back to the ball when coverage breaks down. Absolutely love Rondale Moore in Week 6!
Darnell Mooney CHI v GB(9th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,300)(Y!-$13)
When will the Chicago Bears let Darnell Mooney run free?
The issue here isn’t with Mooney. It’s not with Robinson and Fields either. It’s with the coaching staff. Darnell only caught three passes for 35 yards in Week 5. The kid’s specialty is the deep ball. Anything over 20 yards but they just aren’t letting their WR’s roam. If the Bears want to win or even be competitive in this one they will feed Mooney and Robinson.
Mecole Hardman KC @ WSH(27th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,200)(Y!-$13)
Could there be a trickle-down effect in play for Mecole Hardman in Week 6?
Kansas City stud wide receiver Tyreek Hill banged up his knee a little bit in Week 5. No long-term implications but Mecole Hardman was the guy they turned to in Hill’s absence! That mixed with the second-year RB Clyde Edwards being placed on IR makes for an interesting play in Washington!
John Ross III NYG v LAR(18th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,100)(Y!-$11)
NYG WR John Ross III could be in line for a ton of looks in Week 6.
Did you know, Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton have only played 17 snaps together this season? Not my fact. Came across this wildness on social media Monday evening. Looking ahead to Week 6, what kind of offensive personal will the Giants use? I do firmly believe John Ross III can do some damage.
Van Jefferson Jr. LAR @ NYG(13th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,400)(Y!-$11)
LA Rams deep threat WR Van Jefferson Jr.
Well, it finally happened! Robert Woods broke out! Amen and halleluiah! Not so good for us Van Jefferson fans. Although, the Woods break out may suppress Van’s ownership! Which I am a fan of. Don’t think it’ll take much for the Rams to get over on the Giants. Perfect for McVay and Stafford to try some new packages and plays right?
Randall Cobb GB @ CHI(29th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,900)(Y!-$16)
Revitalized Green Bay WR Randall Cobb!
Admittedly, I thought Cobb’s stat line in Week 4 was a fluke. A one-shot deal. Yet, Randall is still getting looks. Maybe we should start taking this Rodgers to Cobb connection seriously. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! Stack me once lose some cash. Stack me twice hit a GPP!
Chris Moore HOU @ IND(22nd)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,100)(Y!-$12)
Keep an eye out on practice reports for HOU WR Chris Moore!
Fresh from the practice squad Chris has a dang good impression! Five targets, five receptions, 109 yards, and a touchdown! Granted the Texans sent him back to the practice squad Monday, but I have a feeling he will get the bump again in Week 6. Keep in mind if Houston calls upon him once more, they have to offer the kid a contract. Let’s see how the week goes.
Rashard Higgins CLE v ARZ(26th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,400)(Y!-$12)
Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins has filled in nicely for injured Jarvis Landry.
Back-to-back weeks in Bottom of the Barrel for Mr. Higgins! He made good on his status in Week 5! Five targets, three receptions, and a receiving touchdown. I read some wild statistics that the Browns are the first team in history to accumulate 500+ yards, score 40+ points, without a turnover, and still lose! Run it back to Higgins!
Chris Conley HOU @ IND(22nd)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,300)(Y!-10)
Odd week if I am suggested HOU WR Chris Conley!
In Week 4 Conley looked silly. Dropped his only target. In Week 5 Conley was like a vacuum. Sucking up everything! Which can mean a few things. More importantly, means the kid dialed in his concentration and worked hard to right the ship. No one on earth will be stacking Texans this weekend in Indianapolis. Little edge to be gained! Hopefully!
Byron Pringle KC @ WSH(27th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$10)
Kansas City WR Byron Pringle could be in for a tad more looks in Week 6.
Have you ever thought about the DFS trickle-down effect? No? Good cause I just made it up. What are the chances Tyreek Hill is used sparingly and Kansas City plays it safe with him? Makes sense to me. The Chiefs should be able to win this one standing on their head. Why risk the long-term health of your studly WR? So, Hardman sees a bump in targets. Then the rest trickle down to Pringle.
Donovan Peoples-Jones CLE v ARZ(26th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,500)(Y!-$10)
Cleveland Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones
After doing absolutely nothing Donovan Peoples-Jones caught 5-of-6 targets for 70 yards in a 47-42 loss to the Chargers in Week 5. If you’re a Browns fan skip ahead. Do not read this portion. Odell Beckham dropped a pass on a fourth down in the first half and was a ghost rest of the afternoon. Again, it is silly of me to ask but is OBJ toast? In my mind, I like the idea of Cleveland working in several more of their WR’s. One of which being DPJ. Just a thought. Arizona, although weak defending WR’s, should be dominant on the offensive side of the ball. Pushing Baker to push the ball through the air. Throw a dart on Peoples-Jones.
Demarcus Robinson KC @ WSH(27th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,300)(Y!-$12)
Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson could experience the DFS trickle-down effect.
Once again, my DFS trickle effect at work, hopefully. After Hill and Kelce the rest of the offense is left fending for scraps. This game has all the makings of the Chief’s secondary players.
TIGHT END
Travis Kelce KC @ WSH(18th)(FD-$8,500)(DK-$7,000)(Y!-$30)
Kansas City Chiefs stud TE Travis Kelce has shown no signs of slowing down!
All is right in the fantasy football world in Week 6. Kansas City is back on the Main slate and dominating the player pricing at each position. You can count on 10+ targets for Kelce in Washington.
Below are some of my favorite punt plays at the tight-end position!
Tyler Higbee LAR @ NYG(28th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,400)(Y!-$16)
Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee
This game is perfectly placed for an afternoon blow-out and being completely one-sided. Matthew Stafford should systematically pick apart the New York defense. Higbee will score on Sunday but how many times? Tyler is, by far and away, my favorite play at tight end in Week 6!
Jared Cook LAC @ BAL(32nd)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$18)
LA Chargers TE Jared Cook
Old man river can still get it done! Cook caught six passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers Week 4 win against the Raiders. His best game of the season! Maybe this is the jump start he needed! As a professional tight-end DFS punter you can do worse than Cook in Week 6!
Mo Alie-Cox IND v HOU(31st)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,100)(Y!-$16)
Expect Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox to become more involved in the red zone.
Mo Alie-Cox caught three of four targets for 50 yards in Monday night’s 31-25 overtime loss to the Ravens. Mr. Cox has absolutely leap-frogged fellow tight end Jack Doyle in terms of snaps and targets. I fully expect the Colts to keep finding ways of getting him involved. Soon as Week 6!
Ricky Seals-Jones WSH v KC(26th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,000)(Y!-$11)
Wild to think WSH TE Seals-Jones could be on the DFS radar in Week 6.
Washington’s starting TE Logan Thomas has been placed on injured reserve. While the Chiefs should absolutely pour it on here where does that leave Ricky? Exactly where you think it will. QB Taylor Heinicke should go nuts in terms of passing attempts. How many? I am going to predict forty with ease. Meaning, Seals-Jones should be on the end of several targets!
Donald Parham Jr. LAC @ BAL(31st)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$2,900)
Has Justin Herbert found a new red zone target in Donald Parham Jr.?
I spoke a lot over the last few months about this Chargers team. Specifically stating that when Justin Herbert hits his stride it will unlock the full power of the offense. I do believe we are there! Sooner than expected but we are here! Consequently, I want all pieces of this offense I can get my hands on!
That is, it! Did I miss someone? Any questions or comments?
