Bottom of the Barrel Week 7 Quarterback NFL DFS Breakdown

Bottom of the Barrel Week 18 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown

Bottom of the Barrel Week 7 QB NFL DFS Breakdown

Chris Robin 10/19/2022

We can be our own worst enemy at times. As of late it’s been the overthinking that has hit me hard. Going off the deep end in my own mind at night in bed. Not doom and gloom but putting myself in situations that would never exist. It’s like I have been purposely torturing myself. Then, before it gets too far, I reel myself in with some positive encouragement. The true definition of the Angel and Demon on my shoulders.

So now what? Truth be told, I do not know. Still working it all out. Talking to someone about it helps. Writing my thoughts and ideas down helps. Folks always ask me about the pen and paper fixation. I look at it as freeing room in my mind to keep me focused on track, and calm. One less thing to worry about in a way.

As we turn our attention to Week 7 of the NFL there are a few things that come to mind. The one that keeps coming up the most is madness. Yet can we really be surprised? The Philadelphia Eagles are undefeated as they head into their bye week. The New York Jets & Giants look good. Has Tom Brady finally gone off the deep end? Buffalo and Minnesota are 5-1. Have there been more injuries and concussions than normal? Any way you slice it, football keeps us guessing!

Let’s dig into Bottom of the Barrel for Week 7 where I can do most of the guessing!

I’ll get into all the details after a quick note about our new membership options

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson BAL vs. CLE(16th)(FD-$8,800)(DK-$8,000)(Y!-$40)

As we look ahead to the quarterback position you will notice a few fearful and dreadful QB’s in Bottom of the Barrel. Well, I never really count the exact number of players per position. We just follow the value and matchups here at B&B! With it being Week 7, keep an eye on it!

Matt Ryan IND @ TEN(28th)(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$24)

Here we are, once again! If you remember correctly, I mentioned Matty Ice in Bottom of the Barrel three of the first four weeks of the NFL season. Last week against the Jags was not one of them. Matt goes off for 27.16 FD points and 30.2 DK points and my DFS frustration grows. On a positive note, his upcoming schedule is very favorable, and it starts this week in Tennessee. With JT’s status still up in the air lets pencil Matt Ryan for around 40 passing attempts and 260 yards.

Aaron Rodgers GB @ WSH(25th)(FD-$7,100)(DK-$6,000)(Y!-$26)

I came across an interesting question this morning on social media involving Aaron Rodgers. Simply put, “Is Rodgers droppable in redraft formats?”. Holy smokes! I found it shocking but so is 95% of social media. The Pack have lost consecutive games and folks are jumping ship. Perfect time to jump on board if you ask me! Also, the perfect time for a get right game in Washington.

Daniel Jones NYG @ JAX(17th)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$25)

Are the Giants good? Do we owe Danny Dimes an apology? Well, so far so good for Jones! Last week against the Ravens he didn’t stuff the box score but did enough to win! Mr. Jones is responsible for 1,257 all-purpose yards with seven total touchdowns and only two interceptions. For years I have looked at Daniel as a beautiful player in daily fantasy sports formats. We can pick and choose when and where to use him. The Jags DST has been surprisingly good, but the Giants have been a tad better. Let’s temper our expectations on Sunday with Jones but a healthy 200 yards in the air, 35-40 yards on the ground, and a pair of touchdowns is well within reason.

Geno Smith SEA @ LAC(19th)(FD-$6,800)(DK-$5,600)(Y!-$30)

Remember last week when the Seahawks hosted the Cardinals in the 4p EST round of games, and it was supposed to be this 50+ point total? While it turned out being this weird defensive game that ended 19-9? Yeah, that was cool. Everything we expected from Geno last week will come to fruition this week against the Chargers. The Bolts played on Monday night and their defense is banged up. I am expecting the Geno to attempt 30+ passes to keep pace with Justin Herbert. Also, the Seahawks get to face a team on short week that is dealing with injuries.

Jacoby Brissett CLE @ BAL(30th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,300)(Y!-$25)

If I have said it once I have said it a million times, sometimes a DFS play is more about the opposing team rather than the specific player itself. Case in point, Jacoby Brissett! The Baltimore Ravens(3-3) have shown this nasty habit of giving away large leads. Can Lamar and crew hang 35 points on any given Sunday? Absolutely, but their defense is giving away, on average, 23.5 points per game. The best way to attack this Baltimore team is through the air. From a DFS perspective the Ravens are 30th against opposing QBs and 28th against opposing WRs.
