Bottom of the Barrel Week 8 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown
Bottom of the Barrel Week 8 Wide Receivers NFL DFS Breakdown
From a seasonal perspective we are at the half-way point of the fantasy season! Shocking, yes, but another hurdle jumped over when we play daily fantasy sports! The summer has turned into fall, and we are on the cusp of Halloween! What is your favorite scary movie? If you’re like me, you read that in the Scream Ghostface voice. This is no secret, but I am partial to Michael Myers and the original Halloween movies. I am aware we all have our own likes and dislikes.
DFS is best suited for folks willing to take a risk. DFS is also a game of chance & I find it to be enjoyable from a strategic perspective. Do not let anyone tell you, EVER, that your ideas stink. Realistically, that is all we have. A game where our daydreams can pay dividends!
Let’s look at some Week 8 Bottom of the Barrel plays!
I’ll get into all the details after a quick note about our new membership options! 😺
We recently added membership options for Individual Sports here at Rise or Fall. If you wanted to subscribe to NFL Monthly or NFL Weekly without access to any of the other sports you now have that option!
All memberships come with Discord access, but, only the Monthly All Access for $39.99 comes with a $20 monthly credit to Fantasy Cruncher.
Cooper Kupp LAR vs. SF(19th)(FD-$9.300)(DK-$9,600)(Y!-$38)
The Rams have looked off. More importantly, Matthew Stafford has looked off. One thing we can count on is Cooper Kupp being peppered with targets. Matthew currently sports a 6:11 touchdown-to-turnover ratio and it is shocking. Allen Robinson has been non-existent. Cam Akers has fallen out of favor with the team. One idea, which could be LA’s saving grace, is the fact they are fresh off their bye week and will host the 49ers on Sunday. Stiff competition but let’s keep the Kupp show rolling!
Much like the running backs mentioned here in Bottom of the Barrel Week 8, I would like to focus on the cheapest of plays. Four receivers to love in the 6,000-dollar range. However, a few players have set themselves apart while there are some absolute gems to be plucked from the $5,000 range! Lets’ dig in, shall we?
Josh Reynolds DET vs. MIA(25th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,000)(Y!-$15)
Call me crazy but with Miami coming to town I have fallen in love with the over 51.5 points. Everything about this game just screams yardage and points! The Lions look to get Swift back which, like it not, will keep the Dolphins defense honest. Amon-Ra St. Brown is also likely play! Something something Dolphins being honest. While other folks will not give Reynolds a look make sure we kick the tires on him and the entire Lions offense! Same goes for Miami!
Brandin Cooks HOU vs. TEN(30th)(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,900)(Y!-$20)
News just broke that the Titans are starting rookie QB Malik Willis over a sickly Ryan Tannehill. For a simple DFS player blurb that may not move the needle, but I disagree! The entire world now knows that King Henry is going to carry the ball 30+ times, right? So, where does that leave the Texans offense? The time of possession should be massively skewed in favor of Tennessee meaning, the Texans might fall behind or look for some chunk plays. Let Henry eat and do his thing while Houston looks to make up ground bombing the ball. The Titans are giving up around 200.1 yards per game to receivers, the third-highest total in the league. Cooks has a 40+ yard touchdown reception on the horizon!
Drake London ATL vs. CAR(24th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$15)
Drake started out hot this season then last week he was targeted once for a nine-yard completion. That kind of lowly stat-line can sink a DFS line quickly! Better days lie ahead and by that, I mean now, this week! The Falcons offense is young, but they are fun and well coached. With Marcus Mariota as their QB we had to of seen some sort of growing pains. After shipping off CMC to San Francisco the Panthers wailed on Tampa Bay winning 21-3! Weird I know but I do believe Carolina and Atlanta get together for some sort of hair-raising classic decided by a point or two. All the way down to the wire as Drake pays dividends at such a low-price tag!
Rondale Moore ARZ @ MIN(18th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$14)
So far this week I have heard, “Chris you’re an idiot.” In addition to, “Chris, maybe you should give up on this DFS writing thing.” Along with, “That guy would be last on my list of DFS plays this week, dummy!” It is all good cause pleasing everybody has never been high on my list. Now, Bottom of the Barrel mentions Rondale Moore a week after DeAndre Hopkins is back rolling and Robbie Anderson has had more time to get acclimated to the Arizona offense. You know what that sounds like to me? Ample opportunity for Rondale to get back into where he is most comfortable. Running deep routes, stretching the field, and being electric downfield! While most folks will pass on him or snub their nose at Moore pay the few bucks and watch this kid catch two or three passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in Week 8!
Tre’Quan Smith NO vs. LV(23rd)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,400)(Y!-$11)
Marquez Callaway NO vs. LV(23rd)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,700)(Y!-$10)
In all honesty I couldn’t decide which Saint I liked more this week so why not mention both? With Andy Dalton under the center, we have seen this team not afraid to air the ball out. Yes, we need to take the good with the bad but when it’s good it’s very good! This Raiders at Saints game is yet another favorite of mine in terms of the total points and over/under. It currently sits at 49.5 and I am projecting a 31-28 final in favor of Vegas. Regardless of who wins we just might get another three, or four, touchdown performance from Andy Dalton. If that is the case don’t be left holding your hat on Sunday playing the coulda, woulda, and shoulda game!
