Slate Overview:
Today’s main slate is a 5- gamer that screams value all over the board. It’s also one that should offer a bit more clarity than the last few days. We already know that the Celtics will rest all their keys guys, and with Giannis suspended a game for the Bucks I expect them to do the same. With the Pelicans season over heading into their final game, they’ve already announced that they’ll sit Zion Williamson, Jrue Holiday, and Brandon Ingram. We also won’t see Gobert or Conley for the Jazz today. Put all of this together and there should be some very intriguing value plays today. I might even build a few lineups that leave a bit of salary on the board. News will continue to be important once again today so make sure you’re staying up to date with the NBA-News in the discord!
Point Guard
Pay Up
Damian Lillard ($11,200) – The man doesn’t need much of an introduction ever, especially after his play of late. If you haven’t had Lillard in your lineups the last few days I’m sure you’ve felt the pain. He’s scored 45 points in his last 4 games, and over his last 2 games is averaging a whopping 56 PPG. If Memphis loses to Milwaukee, it’s possible we see Lillard rest. I don’t see Memphis losing to a 2nd and 3rd string Bucks squad today though, and I’m locking Lillard in today.
Other Option: Ja Morant ($9,000)
Value
Frank Mason ($4,300) – As I touched on before, I expect the Bucks to rest their guys today. That leaves a lot of minutes and usage for our guy Frank Mason today. In just 22 minutes in his last game out, Mason went for 38 DKFP and filled the stat sheet with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. I love him at this price today.
Shooting Guard
Pay Up
Devin Booker ($9,800) – The bubble Suns are STILL undefeated!! They’re sitting .5 game out of the final spot in the Western Conference and are in another must-win spot today against Dallas. I expect Dallas to play most of their guys if not all of them today, so this should be a competitive game where the Suns will heavily rely on Booker. His price is way up there but on a slate with not a ton of guys to pay up for, I feel very comfortable rostering Book today.
Value
Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($3,700) – As we already know, the Pelicans will rest their studs today in what is their final game of the season. I fully expect all the young guns and 2nd unit guys to get a ton of run today. That leaves me with Alexander-Walker as one of my favorite plays of the day. The rookie hasn’t been shy when he’s got minutes this season and offers quite a bit of upside everywhere on the court. I love NAW today and so should you.
Small Forward
Pay Up
This is a position today that I don’t love the option of paying up at. You could go Luka at ($11,400), but I’d rather take my salary elsewhere today with so many great options at the guard spots. Instead, let’s focus on a couple of values at the SF position.
Value
Sterling Brown ($3,800) – Another Buck’s player that I love today is Sterling Brown. He’s extremely cheap on both sites and is coming off a game where he played 30 minutes and was good for 31 DKFP. If he gets similar playing time again today, which I assume will be the case. I like Brown to go way over his value again today.
JJ Redick ($4,400) – Another Pelican I’d like to target today is JJ Redick. He took advantage of some extra time on the court last game out and went OFF for 46.8 DKFP. If he plays today, I expect his usage and his fantasy point total to be high once again.
Power Forward
DeMar DeRozan ($8,100) – I’m going back to the well with DeRozan at PF again today. The Spurs aren’t technically out of the playoffs yet, and playing against a Jazz team today that will be without a couple key players I like DeRozan’s matchup a lot. I also think he should be locked in for his usual minute total so this should be a pretty safe floor play.
Value
Maxi Kleber ($4,400) – Porzingis is currently listed as questionable and I would be pretty surprised if he ends up playing. That should open up a starting spot for Kleber, and with Luka out there getting people involved I think Kleber has a great shot of exceeding value today. When he starts, he averages 30 minutes per game and I expect him to be around that mark today.
Center
Pay Up
Jonas Valanciunas ($7,700) – Although he hasn’t quite played up to his regular season form in the bubble, I like his price a ton today. The Grizzlies are also in a must-win spot today so I expect Valanciunas to see lots of minutes and put up a great performance against a thin Bucks frontcourt.
Other Options: Jakob Poetl ($5,700), Jusuf Nurkic ($9,200)
Value
Tony Bradley ($3,400) – We should see Bradley play a decent amount of minutes tonight with Gobert resting. Last time Bradley took the floor with no Gobert, he went off for 42 DKFP against you guessed it, this same Spurs team. I think we may see him move into the starting lineup today and even if he doesn’t I like Bradley as my value at Center today.
Let’s smash this slate today and I’ll see you all in Discord!!
