DraftKings PGA DFS Picks and Projections for 2020 RBC Heritage

This week, we head on over to Harbour Town GL for the 2020 RBC Heritage. This is played on Bermuda Greens. The field is huge again – about 154 players (Kevin Na just WD) from the usual 132. Players like Rickie Fowler will be teeing it up here since 2012 and Rory will make his return since 2009. C.T Pan will be returning to defend his 2019 victory.

Keep in mind the last four winners of the RBC Heritage were first time winners on the PGA tour. This is exciting!

Cash Plays

Webb Simpson ($9000) – I know, I know, he missed the cut last week why would you go back to him? So I took a deep dive into Webb. If you notice at Charles Schwab in round 1 he lost over 3.5 strokes in total. His Ball Striking was terrible losing 2.4 strokes, lost 3.3 strokes on approach, etc. But if you look closely in round 2 he gained 3.2 strokes in Ball Striking, 2.3 in T2G and 2.4 strokes in APP.

He missed the cut yes, but the last time he lost this much in Approach was back in the Tour Championship (08/2019).  Webb comes 1st in my model overall, he gains nearly a quarter of a stroke in Bermuda, and if you go back to his history on Bermuda he’s fire. Besides losing on APP in the Tour Championship he hasn’t lost that much since the Honda 2019. He’s ranked 5th in APP and Birdie or Better, ranked 8th in T2G, 16th in putting, 15th in ball striking and 14th ARG. Webb has also placed 16th here last year, 5th in 2018 and 11th in 2017.

Matt Kuchar ($8300) – Yep he also missed the cut last week. Finished at par with 7 birdies within 2 rounds. Let’s do a breakdown on our boy Kuuuuch. First and foremost he’s a Bermuda specialist, he gains nearly a half stroke on Bermuda. But before I get on that, let’s do a quick rewind.

Round 1 at Charles Schwab he actually didn’t play terrible. He lost about 1.2 strokes in T2G, a stroke ARG and lost about a quarter stroke on approach.  However, in round 2 he gained nearly 2 strokes in total. That double bogey didn’t help him on that 9th hole. Matt has a course history of coming in 2nd place in 2019, 23rd in 2018, 11th in 2017, 9th in 2016 and 5th in 2015. Excellent course history. Ranked 15th in APP, 21st in in Driving Accuracy and 24th in T2G.

Today’s video will highlight how to use the identified important stats to create a player pool for MME without having to know a lick of golf. Coaching in Discord with the projection sheet is the KEY to building the actual lineups after creating your pool.

GPP Plays

Jon Rahm ($10500) – I had Rahm in about 40% of my lines last week and I got burned….but! I’m back on him again this week. If we look into Rahm’s stats he gained 2 strokes OTT, nearly a stroke on APP and ARG. He also gained nearly 4 strokes on T2G. So what happened to him? His putting game was atrocious. If we dial it back the last time he had this bad of a putting game was at the Northern Trust in 2018 where he lost nearly 6 strokes in putting alone.

However, if we look at his experience in Bermuda Greens – 9th at WMPO, 10th at TOC, 2nd at Hero, 12th in Tour Championship, 7th in St. Jude and 6th in Valspar. I believe he has a strong bounce back and he also gets overlooked for missing the cut at colonial.

Ian Poulter ($7600) – At this price range Ian should provide you crazy value. Ian has an amazing course history here – finishing 10th in 2019, 7th in 2018, 11th in 2017 and 18th in 2015. Ian plays best at Bermuda courses gained about a quarter a stroke.

He finished 29th last week while still struggling OTT. Same thing happened at API, he struggled OTT and still finished 32nd. He lights up where he has to which is Strokes on Approach and T2G. He’s gaining over 2 strokes on APP and almost 3 strokes in T2G in the last 5 tournaments.

Tournament Winner

Sungjae Im ($9700) – Sungjae finished 10th last week and I didn’t even hear his name. This man spent his whole time on break – working!. He is excellent on Bermuda Greens gaining nearly half a stroke on avg. Even though he missed the cut last year here. In the last 15 starts he’s made 14 cuts.

In the last 5 events he’s gained 1.9 strokes on APP, 1.9 OTT, 1.7 ARG and 5.5 in T2G. If you look at his history in Bermuda Greens he’s finished 3rd at API, 1st at Honda, 10th at AMEX and 21st at Sony. He’s my guy to win this shin dig.
