FLORIDA PANTHERS L2 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets 7p EST
Sam Bennett L2 & PP2
Anthony Duclair L2 & PP1
Jonathan Huberdeau L2 & PP1
I was recently chatting with folks in the free Rise or Fall Discord platform and I realized in all my years playing NHL DFS I cannot remember the last time if ever, a team has been projected so high. Let’s run with it!
The Florida Panthers are at home tonight and skate against the Blue Jacket while scoring, on average, 4.15 goals per game on 36.5 shots per game. While the Florida defense is allowing around 2.90 goals per game while seeing 31.6 shots per game. The Florida penalty kill is clearing around 79% of the penalties faced. While, on offense, the Panthers are converting around 20.8% of the time with the man advantage.
The Blue Jackets defense is allowing around 3.65 goals per game while facing a total of 35.3 shots per game. Columbus has a total of 348 penalty minutes so far this season. So when stacking up FLA1 we should get a fair amount of ice time and a power-play goal, or two!
The Columbus Blue Jackets will just be outmatched in this one as Florida wins 6-2!
SAN JOSE SHARKS L1 vs. New York Islanders 10:30p EST
Tomas Hertl L1 & PP1
Timo Meier L1 & PP1
Alexander Barabanov L1 & PP1
I’ve about had it with the New York Islanders. Not kidding, as I have mentioned them several times the last few weeks and they just aren’t showing up. Tonight, in San Jose, the Islanders will continue their West Coast road trip while being one game below .500 with a struggling goalie.
Sometimes it’s not always about the team we’re stacking but the opposing team and their struggles. I am giving the edge to the home team here in the Shark Tank!
San Jose wins 4-1.
BOSTON BRUINS L3 at Seattle Kraken 10p EST
Charlie Coyle L3 & PP2
Craig Smith L3 & PP2
Trent Fredric L3
The Boston Bruins skate into Seattle with a record of 29-17-4, having won three out of their last five games coming against Ottawa, twice on the road, and most recently against Colorado at home.
Seattle goalie Philip Grubauer has not played well this season with only 12 wins and 22 losses and carries a nasty GAA of 3.18. Furthermore, Philip Grubauer’s save percentage is .887 which is the worst in the Western Division.
Let’s keep it simple and plug in the Bruins. Boston’s first two lines will be widely popular, and I love the idea of zigging while others zag!
I see Boston winning this one easily. Boston wins 5–2.
NEW JERSEY DEVILS L1 at Pittsburgh Penguins 7p EST
Jack Hughes L1 & PP1
Dawson Mercer L1 & PP2
Yegor Sharangovich L1 & PP2
As usual, let’s take a big swing with the Devils tonight against the Pens! Pittsburgh’s defense is only allowing 2.65 goals per game. The Penguins have cashed in on the power play around 21.5% of the time and have killed off 86.5% of the penalties faced this year.
On the flip side, the Devils are scoring, on average, 2.95 goals per game. Unfortunately, New Jersey is also allowing 3.56 goals per game. The Devil’s power play has been anemic only succeeding around 17.2% of the time. However, the Devils have killed off around 83.5% of the penalties faced this season.
Look, let’s take a chance on the Devils tonight. The last time out the Tampa Bay Lightning absolutely smashed them. Fingers crossed for a few breaks or for a few pucks to bounce their way! The silver lining here is little to ownership!
New Jersey wins here by the skin of their teeth 3-2!
