Repeated behavior can be monotonous. I have also heard a human can create a bad habit within 21 days. Habit formation is the process by which behaviors become automatic. Habits can form without a person meaning to acquire them, but they can also be deliberately cultivated—or eliminated. Repeated behavior, if done right, can create a nice routine.
This is a daily fantasy sports hockey article, why would you care? Keeping with the open and honest relationship we have together I thought it best to share my daily habits. One of which is my daily routine of getting my NHL DFS done and out to you!
A nice long day of Hockey on the last Saturday of February! Let’s get started!

FLORIDA PANTHERS L2 vs. Edmonton Oilers
Sam Bennett L2 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$5,000)
Anthony Duclair L2 & PP1(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,900)
Jonathan Huberdeau L2 & PP1(FD-$8,800)(DK-$7,100)
The Edmonton Oilers look to snap a two-game losing streak when visiting the Florida Panthers on Saturday. Florida also looks to snap a two-game losing streak as they host the Edmonton Oilers! Edmonton is fourth in the Pacific Division with a 28-20-3 record and 59 points and only trails the Calgary Flames by seven points. On the flip side, Florida is first in the Atlantic division at 35-12-5 with 75 points. The Panthers hold a three-point lead over the second-place Tampa Bay Lightning.
Aleksander Barkov is leading the team in goals, with 23, while Jonathan Huberdeau is the leader in assists with 56 and points with 74. Florida is scoring, on average, 4.15 goals per game and is only allowing around 2.90 goals per contest. As stated above in my stacks I am interested in the Panther’s first power-play unit as well. See how Florida’s power-play scores 20% of the time! On the other side of the ice, Edmonton is allowing, on average, 3.25 goals per game.
Make no mistake, this is a heavyweight hockey game! Both teams should have success on the offensive side of things, but the Panthers prove to be too much.
The Florida Panthers win at home tonight beating the Oilers 6-4.
ONE-OFF ALERT! Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,000)(DK-$7,500)
Not that sneaky. Ownership percentage may be a tad suppressed given the large slate. However, run the four-man FLA stack seeing how all four skaters are on the 1st power-play unit!
LOS ANGELES KINGS L1 vs. New York Islanders
Anze Kopitar L1 & PP1(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,600)
Adrian Kempe L1 & PP1(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,800)
Alex Iafallo L1 & PP1(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,500)
The LA Kings defeated the Ducks in Anaheim 4-1 last night. Tonight, the Kings are hosting the hot and cold New York Islanders. The Kings skate into the weekend with a 27-17-7 record and sit 3rd in the Pacific. The Los Angeles Kings have hit their stride, winning seven of their last ten games!
LA Kings goalie Cal Petersen will make his 22nd start in goal. Petersen is 13-7-1 on the year with one shutout. Petersen has allowed 56 goals and carries .868 goals-against average. The Kings have the confidence and a little winning streak to back them up tonight at home. All three of these skaters’ price tags are still head scratches. Take advantage!
Momentum is with the LA Kings. They win here final score of 5-2!
ONE-OFF ALERT! Viktor Arvidsson L2 & PP1(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,600)
Viktor has accumulated two goals, two assists, and 11 SOG his last four games.
OTTAWA SENATORS L1 vs. Montreal Canadiens
Tim Stutzle L1 & PP1(FD-$4,800)(DK-$4,100)
Brady Tkachuk L1 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$6,500)
Adam Gaudette L1 & PP2(FD-$4,000)(DK-$2,700)
The Montreal Canadiens skate into Saturday’s contest into this one from the bottom of the standing. Montreal is 12-33-7 on the year while even riding a four-game win streak as they shut out Buffalo last time out! However, tonight the Ottawa Senators will be playing their 4th consecutive home game following an impressive 4-3 win against Minnesota.
Not a glowing review but, offensively Ottawa has been one of the worst teams in the NHL in the season only averaging 2.65 goals per game on 30 total shots as a team. Brady Tkachuk leads the Ottawa offense with 37 points and defenseman Thomas Chabot leads the team in assists with 22.
Two bad teams but a game that will be faded across the board. Meaning, we could have a little advantage with some leverage!
Let’s take Ottawa, at home, to prevail over Montreal 4-1!
ONE-OFF ALERTS! Thomas Chabot L1 & PP1)FD-$6,100)(DK-$6,500)
Might sound odd but Chabot is, without doubt, the heart and soul of this team. Averaging 25+ minutes on the ice per game and just shoots the puck a ton. Well, for a defenseman at least! In his last two games, Chabot has scored twice, shot the puck 16 times, in addition to several blocked shots. I absolutely love a do-it-all defenseman!
DEFENSEMAN
Charlie McAvoy BOS @ SJ L1 & PP1(FD-$5,400)(DK-$5,900)
Charlie has seemingly been anointed as the Bruin’s top dog on defense. He has already matched his career-high in points with 32, logging 7 goals and 25 assists. Let me also mention 96 SOG and 78 blocked shots! Until the price catches up it’s a full send with Charlie!
Moritz Seider DET vs TOR L1 & PP1(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,700)
A little bit expensive for my taste given the enormity of the schedule today but this rookie has been outstanding in his first season. In his last three games, Mo has accounted for 5 assists, 10 SOG, and 8 blocks! WOW! Oh, let’s not forget he rarely comes off the ice!
Tyson Barrie EDM @ FLA L1 & PP1(FD-$4,400)(DK-$4,000)
So, you’re telling me I can get exposure to the Oiler’s first line AND first power-play unit for under $4,500 on both sites?! Sign me up!
