ARIZONA COYOTES L1 vs. Winnipeg Jets 1p EST

Travis Boyd L1 & PP2(FD-$4,000)(DK-$3,300)
Nick Schmaltz L1 & PP1(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,500)
Clayton Keller L1 & PP1(FD-$6,700)(DK-$6,000)

I have said this before, but it bears repeating. Sometimes the team stacks in DFS can be more about the other team than the team we’re stacking. Case in point, the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets head to Arizona today after several horrific losses. Their latest loss, Colorado 6-3, ended up pushing the Jets record to 22-21-9, but the Jets are now 9-11-8 on the road so far this season.

However, the Coyotes aren’t much better but are playing a tad better than the Jets. The Arizona Coyotes are coming in with a record of 14-34-4 overall but are subpar at home, 07-19-1.

The Arizona offense has only managed to get 2.30 goals per game. While their defense is allowing 3.60 goals per game. If you do the math, it’s not good. However, in their last 4 games, they have averaged a respectable 2.8 goals a game. The Coyotes will not light the slate on fire, but I do believe this first line can hang three goals on a slumping Jet’s team. With the goals come to assist and SOG.

As a nice complimentary stack, Arizona wins, at home, 3-1.

ST. LOUIS BLUES L2 at Chicago Blackhawks 3p EST

Robert Thomas L2 & PP2(FD-$5,300)(DK-$5,300)
Pavel Buchnevich L2 & PP2(FD-$7,000)(DK-$6,600)
Vladimir Tarasenko L2 & PP1(FD-$8,200)(DK-$7,500)

The Blues travel to Chicago to battle the Blackhawks having won their last contest against the Sabers. While the Blackhawks hung eight goals on the Devils Friday night!

The Blues offense is averaging a strong 3.60 goals per game on 31 shots per game. The Blues defense is giving up, on average, 2.75 goals per game while facing around 32.1 shots per game. The Blue’s power play has been their strength as of late scoring 26.8% of the time! The Blackhawks defense is giving up around 32 shots a contest to opposing teams are allowing 3.40 goals per game. The Chicago Blackhawks are 30th overall in killing off penalties. To put that in perspective the Carolina Hurricanes are 1st overall in killing off penalties at 91.1%.

I firmly believe the Blues have a field day against the Blackhawks. Several power-play goals along with a few even-strength goals. Stack accordingly.

The St. Louis Blues humble the Blackhawks in Chicago here. STL wins 5-1.

ONE-OFF Alert! Brayden Schenn L3 & PP1 (FD-$6,200)(DK-$4,700)

After seemingly being demoted to the Blue’s third line Brayden has had a very nice week! A goal in three straight games, 7 SOG, one assist, and 3 blocked shots! The Blues have left Schenn on their first power-play line which includes Vlad Tarasenko.

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS L1 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins 6p EST

Boone Jenner L1 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$6,900)
Jakub Voracek L1 & PP1(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,100)
Patrik Laine L1 & PP1(FD-$7,200)(DK-$6,600)

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been outstanding on offense as of late, averaging 3.5 goals per game on a whopping 34.7. Jake Guentzel(FD-$8,500)(DK-$7,800) has been the mastermind on the Penguins offense leading the team with 52 points in compliment with 25 goals on 170 shots!

Well, not a glowing review for the Blue Jackets’ first line but Pittsburgh played against the New York Rangers yesterday afternoon. The Penguins won 1-0 but this game was a hard-nosed, physical, grind-it-out type contest. Now, today, they travel to Ohio to face off against Columbus. Meaning, they may be tired, sore, and just looking to get back home.

The Blue Jackets win at home. Final score 5-2.

SAN JOSE SHARKS L1 vs. Seattle Kraken 10p EST

Tomas Hertl L1 & PP1(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,200)
Timo Meier L1 & PP1(FD-$9,500)(DK-$7,100)
Alexander Barabanov L1 & PP1(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,500)

Seattle lost last time out against the Boston Bruins which drops them to a 16-35-5 record on the year overall, but the road the Kraken are only 7-16-2. Hello San Jose! The Sharks welcome in Seattle for back-to-back home games after playing the Bruins on Saturday night.

The Shark’s offense is scoring, on average, around 2.70 goals a game, but have been a little light with only 30 SOG games. The Kraken defense is allowing around 3.60 goals a game and averaging around 29.2 shots faced a contest. The Sharks have scored 27 power-play goals so far this season which is around 20% of the time. This is where it gets good! Seattle has given up 32 power-play goals and is only killing off about 76% of the power plays faced. Which is at the bottom of the league, 25th overall.

The Sharks are on a back-to-back here, at home, does it matter, no. The San Jose Sharks roll here and win 5-2!

ONE-OFF alert! Logan Couture L2 & PP1 SJ vs. SEA(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,100)

Logan has been on fire as of late scoring 5 goals with an assist in his last six games. He’s now boosted his totals to 18 goals, 124 SOG, 64 hits, and 38 total points. Stack SJ1 and add in Logan or simply stack up the Shark’s first power-play unit!

Jacob Chychurn ARZ vs. WPG L3 & PP2(FD-$5,100)(DK-$5,500)

Jacob has five assists through nine games this month and has now popped up, once again, as an offensive contributor on the blue line.

K’Andre Miller NYR vs. VAN L2 & PP2(FD-$3,900)(DK-$2,600)

Miller is fast becoming a steady source of shots on goal and blocked shots. Most of what he does has yet to translate to DFS points, but his ice time has steadily grown since the start of the season, and he skates next blueline stalwart Jacob Trouba.

There you have it! Good luck with your hockey adventures today!
