My late father, Ron, was a good man. He taught me many things. Have good manners, be prompt, and work hard. He was supportive of me as a small child, a teenager, and as a man. He let me make my own mistakes. He was always there to help and lend some wisdom when I screwed up badly. When things were going well, he would humble me. Most importantly, he was the first one to tell me how proud he was of me regardless of if my situation was good or bad.
What resonated the most was the way he and my mother, Lisa, would let me figure it all out on my own. Well, maybe a helping hand or two, but it was always my ass in the jackpot. My father succumbed to colon cancer a few years back and as time ticks away I have noticed most of what I do, or how I act, is a product of both him and my mother. Just saying that out loud strikes a chord and I realize how lucky I have been in my life.
Whatever your personal situation might be with your friends and family please realize that most folks have your best interests at heart. I just can’t get behind the idea that this world, this society, and humanity are evil. Maybe that mindset is naïve or maybe it’s a byproduct of my upbringing and attitude. Either way, I am happy to go on my merry way whistling dixie!
Let’s talk hockey now, shall we? There are nine total games on the NHL schedule this evening! Here are my three favorite stacks that should open it all up for you as we build our DFS lines.

WINNIPEG JETS L1 vs. Montreal Canadiens 8p EST
Mark Scheifele L1 & PP1(FD-$6,900)(DK-$6,000)
Paul Stastny L1 & PP2(FD-$4,100)(DK-$2,800)
Blake Wheeler L1 & PP1(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,700)
The Winnipeg Jets are home and sit with a record of 23-21-9 on the year so far. The last time out the Jets beat the Arizona Coyotes, the final score of 5-3. It’s not that easy for the Canadiens even though they beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1 on Saturday. Their last win hardly mattered as they sit at 13-33-7.
The Jets are scoring around 2.95 goals per game while maintaining a respectable 20% conversion rate on the power play. Defensively the Jets are giving up about 2.90 goals per game. So, we can see the Jets have played in a lot of competitive games.
The Montreal defense is allowing right about 3.75 goals per game, the worst in the NHL. The Canadiens have a little winning streak going but that ends tonight.
The Winnipeg Jets beat Montreal at home final score of 4-1.
NEW JERSEY DEVILS L1 at Columbus Blue Jackets 7p EST
Jack Hughes L1 & PP1(FD-$8,300)(DK-$6,100)
Dawson Mercer L1 & PP2(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,000)
Yegor Sharangovich L1 & PP2(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,800)
The New Jersey Devils skate into Ohio tonight with a little bit of momentum having beat the Vancouver Canuks last night, 7-2. Nice win for DFS and betting purposes but still leaves them 18-29-5 on the season.
The Devils may be catching the Blue Jackets at the perfect time! Columbus has lost their last two games one with Pittsburgh, and on the other against Carolina, and were shut out 4–0. Might seem like a reach to some folks but riding a hot streak, no matter how small, is something I can always sink my teeth into!
This New Jersey at Columbus game has the potential to produce nine, or more, total goals. Get in on the action!
The Devils prevail final score of 5-4.
ONE-OFF ALERT! Jasper Bratt L2 & PP1(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,000)
The Devil’s own Jasper Bratt is leading the team in points with 48, and goals with 18, three of which on the power play while peppering 130 total shots on goal, and assists with 30.
SAN JOSE SHARKS at Vegas Golden Knights 10p EST
Timo Meier L1 & PP1(FD-$9,500)(DK-$7,600)
Tomas Hertl L1 & PP1(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,600)
Alexander Barabanov L1 & PP1(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,800)
San Jose heads to Vegas on Tuesday to battle the Golden Knights. The Sharks are 24-23-6 on the season and treading water in the Pacific. However, the Sharks have only won two of their last ten games and are dead even, 11-11-3, on the road.
On the flip side, The Vegas Golden Knights are home amid a two-game losing streak. Vegas lost to Colorado 3-2 on Saturday. Overall though the Golden Knights are 29-20-4 on the season and currently holding on tight to a playoff spot. Vegas does own a 14-12-3 record on their home ice.
By the looks of it, all the Golden Knights are heavy favorites but are literally on thin ice during this two-game skid. The value and leverage to be gained with the Shark’s first line are too much to ignore. Plus, San Jose needs to right the wrong having lost to Vegas just last week!
The Golden Knights stay down while the Sharks prevail! Final score SJ 3-2.
