Sorry for the delay my NHL DFS friends! There are 13 total games tonight and it is absolutely chalked full of high-flying fun! Loaded with star-studded talent with enormous price tags but also some of those cheaply-priced secondary gems!
I feel like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! “I’m late, I’m late! For a very important date! No time to say ‘hello, goodbye,’ I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!”
Let’s jump right in! Thirteen games are broken down into three separate slates on both formats! Here’s where my mind is at for this evening’s hockey action!
Here is the direct link to ROF’s NHL Study Hub for the day! https://teamriseorfall.com/nhl-dfs-study-hub/
FLORIDA PANTHERS PP1 vs. Philadelphia Flyers 7p Est
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,300)(DK-$8,600)
Carter Verhaeghe L1 & PP2(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,100)
Maxim Mamin L1(FD-$3,300)(DK-$2,500)
If the Florida Panthers are playing, I am stacking them! The Panthers are a stout 36-13-5 overall and 25-6-0 at home! Which is good for 1st place in the Atlantic. Offensively the Panthers are white-hot scoring, on average, 4.15 goals a game while firing off 37.2 shots a contest.
On the flip side, The Philadelphia Flyers head to Florida with a subpar record of 18-28-10. While being 7-13-5 at on the road this year. The Flyers are in dead last in a very competitive Metropolitan Division. Philadelphia’s offense has been lackluster all year only averaging 2.50 goals a game on around 30 shots.
Truth be told the Panthers will control just about every facet of this game right from the puck drop. I could also see a case where Florida can carry this game and the over/under on their own. So, naturally bet the over, FLA ML, and stack their first line!
Without question, the Florida Panthers win here and hang 6+ goals. Final score FLA 6 – 1!
MINNESOTA WILD L1 at Detroit Red Wings 7p Est
Ryan Hartman L1 & PP1(FD-$5,700)(DK-$5,700)
Mats Zuccarello L1 & PP1(FD-$7,200)(DK-$5,400)
Krill Kaprizov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,200)(DK-$7,800)
Sometimes our content is written itself. Or it just takes care of itself! Case in point, Wild at The Red Wings. The Wings are 24-27-6 overall and 16-12-3 at home. Which is good for 5th place in the Atlantic. While the Minnesota Wild are 33-19-3 overall but only 7-13-3 on the road. Good enough for 3rd place in the Central.
If you line up both teams and their offenses here is what we get! Minnesota is averaging 3.75 goals a game on around 33 shots a pop. While the Wings are scoring, on average, 2.80 goals a game on around 31 shots. One thing that also stuck out to me is the fact the Wings are winning at least 51% of their faceoffs. To a casual DFS player that is meaningless. However, if you are better it’s just a tiny advantage that can move the needle!
This Wings team is young, hungry, and learning to win. While the Wild strike me as this fast-paced all-business-type Stanley Cup contender. My loyalty aside, I do believe we see an entertaining awe-inspiring game at LCA tonight!
The Wild prevail but the Wings keep it close with a late-game goal. Final score MIN 6-5.
LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS L1 at Buffalo Sabers 7:30p Est
Jack Eichel L1 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$6,700)
Chandler Stephenson L1 & PP2(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,400)
Max Pacioretty L1 & PP1(FD-$9,300)(DK-$6,600)
Jack Eichel revenge game. Need I say more? For the sake of my integrity, I will elaborate. This Vegas offense is above average on offense scoring around 3.10 goals a game just firing pucks at the net. Good for about 34 shots a game. The Golden Knight’s defense has remained steady allowing 2.90 goals to opposing teams.
The disconnect here between both teams is like a neon sign blinking, “STACK LVK, STACK LVK!” The Buffalo defense is allowing just about 3.60 goals a game while being peppered with shots, 34 shots to be exact.
The Sabers were absolutely smashed by the Panthers their last time out, 6-1. I see no reason why Vegas cannot have the same, maybe more, success tonight in Buffalo.
Take what the slate is giving us and stack LVK1! Final score Vegas 5-2!
NEW YORK ISLANDERS PP1 vs. The Columbus Blue Jackets 7:30p Est
Anders Lee L1 & PP1(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,600)
Brock Nelson L1 & PP1(FD-$6,300)(DK-$5,000)
Anthony Beauvillier L2 & PP1(FD-$4,300)(DK-$3,800)
Jean-Gabriel Pageau L2 & PP1(FD-$4,400)(DK-$3,400)
With the enormity of tonight’s action, there are several different ways to lean and teams to stack. Meaning let’s stop on this one! The Blue Jackets head to Jersey to tussle with the Islanders!
The Islanders stay home tonight and carry a record of 21–24–8. Unfortunately, they have lost three out of their last five games. Albeit two of which were at the hands of the league-leading Colorado Avalanche.
Nelson is leading the team in goals with 21. While four of those have come on the power play. Anders Lee, Anthony Beauvillier, and Jean-Gabriel have combined for 11 total power-play goals!
ONE-OFF Alert and stack addition!
Matthew Barzal L1 & PP2(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,200)
We can even swap out Pageau in favor of Matthew Barzal for a taste of their second power-play unit. Seeing how Barzal leads the Islanders in points(37) and in assists(25). While nine of those assists have come along on the power play. Barzal has not played in five straight games and has is currently a GTD.
