Are you ready to turn the page on the cold and winter? Only applicable to those of us in the Midwest and the East coast! I figured you’d agree! Yet we have March and this awful 31st day! The start of April means many things! One of which being spring! The other is baseball!
I also want you to know that change is scary but so is staying the same. Most human beings are creatures of habit. Testing the waters daily as we keep our time in a tight routine. Deciding to enter the unknown in hopes of an easy softer way takes guts. The issue with most folks is fearing the future and the unknown. Yet, those same people see no issue in growing roots in mediocrity. To me, that’s as scary as it gets.

As we turn our attention to tonight’s hockey schedule there are nine total games. Should be a good one! Here are a few teams and line combinations I am into!
FLORIDA PANTHERS L2 vs. Chicago Blackhawks 7p EST
Sam Bennett L2 & PP2(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,400)
Anthony Duclair L2 & PP1(FD-$5,900)(DK-$4,800)
Jonathan Huberdeau L2 & PP1(FD-$9,200)(DK-$6,800)
The Chicago Blackhawks head to Florida tonight to battle the Panthers! True to my word in the last few articles, if the Panthers are playing, they will be in Hot Puck! Florida’s overall record this year is a sparkling 45–15–6. Which is good enough for 96 points and only tail the Avalanche for best record and tied with the Hurricanes! The Panthers have also won three out of their last five games! On the other end, the Chicago Blackhawks are 24–33–10, and have done just enough to keep us DFS players interested here and there. Chicago has also lost three out of their last five games.
To be fair, whatever line Jonathan Huberdeau is on then that’s the line I am looking to stack. Hubs lead the Panthers in points with 93, along with 23 goals, and his team-leading 70 assists. Also, 25 of those assists have come on the power play.
The Chicago Blackhawks are allowing, on average, 3.50 goals a game while the Panthers are scoring, on average, 4.10 goals a contest. It’s been a beautiful thing for us DFS players. There is a time and place to stack the Blackhawks. Tonight is not one of those nights. Use the Panthers with confidence tonight in cash games and even GPP’s seeing how their team implied goal total is right at 4.2 goals.
It is time for the Panthers to hunt tonight. Final score, Florida wins 5-3!
NEW YORK ISLANDERS L1 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets 7p EST
Brock Nelson L1 & PP1(FD-$6,800)(DK-$6,300)
Anders Lee L1 & PP1(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,900)
Anthony Beauvillier L1 & PP2(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,400)
The Islanders host the Blue Jackets in Jersey tonight. New York is two games above .500 with an overall season record of 29–27–9. Having lost three out of their last five games. Their only two victories were against two weak teams, the Detroit Red Wings and the Ottawa Senators.
Mr. Brock Nelson is leading the Islanders in points with 48 and goals with 32. While nine of those scores have been on the power play. Matthew Barzal(FD-$6,400)(DK-$4,600) is also on my radar tonight as he is leading the team in assists with 32. While 13 of those assists have been on the power play.
Look, there are nine games on tonight’s hockey schedule that includes the likes of Colorado, Boston, Toronto, Pittsburgh, and even Calgary. As a big swing taker in GPPs, I am planting my flag on this game, from start to finish, as a full game stack.
STACK ADDITION! Noah Dobson L1 & PP1(FD-$6,000)(DK-$6,400)
Noah has fast become a reliable studly DFS defenseman. What I enjoy most about Dobson is the fact we can use him everywhere. As a one-off, in a full team stack, or as a short style stack. As you build tonight consider Noah, Barzal, and the rest of the Islander’s first line.
COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS L1 at New York Islanders 7p EST
Jack Roslovic L1 & PP2(FD-$4,000)(DK-$3,100)
Jakub Voracek L1 & PP1(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,100)
Patrick Laine L1 & PP1(FD-$7,800)(DK-$5,900)
Wait, what? An Islander/Blue Jacket game stack? You must have finally lost your marbles, Chris! The joke is on you; my mind has been lost for quite some time. Jokes aside the Blue Jackets’ record sits at 32– 30–5. Columbus has also lost four out of their last five games. Their only win in their last five was against the Blues.
Patrick Laine is leading the Blue Jackets in points(51), and in goals scored(25). What stinks is the fact only four of those goals have been on the power play. I mean, a goal is a goal but the idea of safely stacking the power-play makes me feel warm and fuzzy. In addition, Jakub Voracek is leading Columbus in assists with 44. While 19 of them have been on the power play.
No stack or line combo is 100% safe but, I do love the idea of CBJ1 stacked up with the Islanders of your choosing. The total has gone OVER in 4 of the Blue Jackets’ last 6 games. The total has gone OVER in 13 of The Islanders’ last 20 games. Expect an under-the-radar goal-fest as both teams let it all hang out seeing how they are #3 and #4 and chasing a Wild Card Playoff spot!
In all honesty, flip a coin or ask a magic 8-ball who will win. Final score, Islanders win 5-4!
STACK ADDITION! Oliver Bjorkstrand L2 & PP1(FD-$6,300)(DK-$4,700)
Oliver is one tough cookie. He has played in 65 of the Blue Jackets’ 67 games this season. His second on the team in goals with 24. A solid number of assists with 26, which are both good enough for 50 total points. The kicker here with Oliver is his contributions to the first power-play unit. Once again, stack up the Blue Jackets and toss in the Islanders!

BOSTON BRUINS L2 vs. New Jersey Devils 7p EST
Erik Haula L2(FD-$4,100)(DK-$3,900)
Taylor Hall L2 & PP1(FD-$5,700)(DK-$5,100)
David Pastrnak L2 & PP1(FD-$8,500)(DK-$7,700)
The Devils have been awful on the road this season. Yes, that’s the blurb here. Plus, the Bruins should be amped up and looking to win after the Maple Leafs one-upped them Tuesday, at home, 6-4.
Nothing profound, final score, Boston wins 5-1.
There you have it! Good luck with your hockey adventures today!
