We made it through the week, hopefully! As we turn our attention to the weekend let’s stop and take in tonight’s hockey slate! Don’t know how many times you have personally done that but let’s give it a shot! The National Hockey League is an acquired taste. NHL DFS is certainly not as popular as it should be.
Maybe one day we can get NHL DFS to the top of the ladder! If not, we will have Hot Puck and we will have each other! That’s good enough, right? Let’s talk about tonight’s hockey action. We have seven games and the first puck drop is at 7p EST!

Hey hey! Rise or Fall’s NBA DFS projections are 100% FREE today!

NEW YORK RANGERS L1 vs. New Jersey Devils 7p EST
Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1(FD-$7,500)(DK-7,300)
Chris Kreider L1 & PP1(FD-$8,200)(DK-$6,700)
Alex Lafreniere L1 & PP2(FD-$4,500)(DK-$3,200)
The Rangers beat the Blues last time out 5-3. That win has them sitting with a 34-15-5 record overall, but more importantly, the Rangers are 18-5-3 at home this season. Tonight New York welcomes in the New Jersey Devils. Looking around I just may be the only NHL DFS guy who has enjoyed using the Devils this season.
So far this season the Rangers have faced, on average, 33 shots a game while sporting a respectable 2.50 goals-against average. The New York Rangers offense, as of late, are scoring about 2.95 goals a game while shooting the puck 29ish times a contest. The Devils head to New York with a very respectable 3.10 goals for average. While their defense has inflated goals-against an average of 3.60 while facing around 31 shots per game.
I would fully expect the Rangers to just haul off and shoot the puck around 35 times tonight at home. The New York offense isn’t a sure thing by any means, but the Devil’s defense tonight will be their downfall.
Ranger’s pepper the Devils goalie with shots tonight and win at home. Final Score NYR 6-2.
MINNESOTA WILD L2 at Buffalo Sabers 7p EST
Fredrick Gaudreau L2 & PP2(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,300)
Kevin Fiala L2 & PP2(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,200)
Matt Boldy L2 & PP1(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,000)
Minnesota is currently five points behind the Blues and 19 points behind first-place Colorado. Minnesota lost to Calgary 5-1 on Tuesday. The Wilds’ second loss to the Flames in the last three days.
Minnesota is scoring, on average, 3.75 goals per game while allowing about 3.10 goals per game. Minnesota’s power-play scores 19.5% of the time which is about 20th overall in the NHL so far this season. On the other hand, the Buffalo Sabers are scoring about 2.65 goals per game and allowing, as of late, 3.55 goals per game.
If we do the math in this one all signs point to the Wild big time! Let’s fade the noise and their first line and run with MIN2!
Final score Minnesota takes this one 5-2.
LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS L2 at Anaheim Ducks 10p EST
William Karlsson L2 & PP2(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,500)
Reilly Smith L2 & PP2(FD-$5,900)(DK-$3,800)
Jonathan Marchessault L2 & PP2(FD-$6,400)(DK-$4,800)
The Vegas Golden Knights are 27-15-9 while 15-5-4 on the road, which is good for 3rd place in the Pacific Division. Offensively the Golden Knights are averaging 3.40 goals to go along with 32 shots per contest. Defensively the Mighty Ducks are allowing around 2.95 goals a game on 32 total shot attempts.
First, I looked, on offense, I noticed the Ducks are averaging around 3.75 goals a game to go with 33 shots. It doesn’t seem right to me seeing how the Duck’s last five-game totals are as follows: 4, 0, 1, 4, and 7. If you add those up and divide them by five, we get 3.2. Regardless the Golden Knight’s second line has been rolling as of late. Let’s run it back!
The last 10 total games head-to-head between these two teams is divided right down the middle, 5-5. However, the Vegas Knights should pressure the Ducks enough and get under their duck skin!
Final score LVK wins 4-1!
