Hate to bum you out but didn’t the weekend go by at warp speed? Not my best opening line of all time but it’s honest. The best we can do now is start our week out on the right foot. It’s an odd statement given the fact this is supposed to be a fun and entertaining daily fantasy sports article.
With sports gambling now at our fingertips and the wide array of availability, we need to practice patience and self-control. In turn, sportswriters are popping up from the woodwork. Meaning, there are more than enough folks using the terms, “so fun” or even, “your life depends on it” as sensationalism in their work. Truth be told it is harmless.
However, do not get in over your head with betting and playing daily fantasy sports. That’s the best way to start this week off on the right foot!
Here is the direct link to Rise or Fall’s NBA Study Hub! https://teamriseorfall.com/nba-dfs-study-hub/
FLORIDA PANTHERS L1 at Buffalo Sabers 7p EST
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,400)(DK-$9,000)
Mason Marchment L1 & PP2(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,500)
Carter Verhaeghe L1(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,200)
The beautiful part about NHL DFS is the preconceived notions among casual daily fantasy sports players. Not to be rude or condescending but it can work in our favor. The Florida Panther’s offense has been spectacular. Yet, on most daily slates they go under-owned and under-utilized. For example, tonight the Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers are in action. Once again, the Panthers will be criminally faded!
Florida is scoring, on average, about 4.10 goals per game. While their defense is only giving up around 2.90 goals per game. A quick check of my calculator and there we have it. The Panther’s power play has been successful right around 21.7% of the time. Good enough for 14th overall in the league. Do not overthink this one. The 37-13-5 Florida Panthers head to Buffalo as the Sabers are allowing dang near 3.60 goals per game.
Florida rolls in this one. Stack the Panthers every which way. Final score FLA 7-2.
COLORADO AVALANCHE L3 at New York Islanders 7:30p EST
JT Compher L3(FD-$4,300)(DK-$2,700)
Alex Newhook L3 & PP2(FD-$4,400)(DK-$2,800)
Logan O’Connor L3(FD-$3,800)(DK-$2,500)
My first thought about tonight’s hockey action was to be as off the map as possible. There are only five games but three include Toronto, Edmonton, and Colorado. The number of folks that will build around those three top lines will be off the charts. Rightfully so, but if we’re looking to take down a single entry GPP and/or multi-entry GPP we need to think another way.
Colorado’s third line is my way of going against the grain. Colorado has one of the best offenses in the league right now. The Avalanche are scoring, on average, 3.90 goals a game while shooting the puck about 35 times a game. Not really a shot in the dark but I do believe we can make some headway with COL3.
Colorado should steamroll the Islanders tonight on Long Island. COL wins 5-1!
BOSTON BRUINS L2 vs. Los Angeles Kings 7p EST
Erik Haula L2 & PP1(FD-$4,300)(DK-$3,000)
Taylor Hall L2 & PP2(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,300)
David Pastrnak L2 & PP1(FD-$8,800)(DK-$6,400)
Lest we forget the Boston Bruins are playing tonight as well! To go along with Edmonton, Toronto, and Colorado! We are chalked full of star-studded point accumulating studs! Boston’s second line is yet another way for us to be a tad different while not sacrificing our point totals.
The Bruins skates on their home ice tonight while scoring, on average, 3.05 goals a game. Defensively the Bruins are allowing 2.70 goals a game. While the Kings are averaging about 2.90 goals a game. On defense, Los Angeles is allowing 2.80 goals a contest.
As it stands now, I cannot really get a pulse on this game. Believe it or not, I am torn between these two. So, my move is to combo stack both teams. If we stack BOS1/LA2 or vice versa LA1/BOS2 I do think we can find some success. When all is said and done, I can’t fight this overtime feeling between the Kings and Bruins.
The Boston Bruins will prevail at home, winning 4-3 in OT!
There you have it! Good luck with your hockey adventures today!
