We all have our own quirks, quips, and rituals. That peculiar behavior is endearing to some. While others turn up their nose as they judge us. Which is fine we cannot please everyone. However, the most freeing attitude is when we explore every oddity on a whim while leaving our ego behind.
Some of the happiest people I know are unapologetically themselves. The idea of going through life with the sole purpose of pleasing others or painting a false picture is exhausting. Sure, some folks can tolerate it longer. While others rarely change. The breakthrough happens when we realize what others say about us is not our business. Let me repeat, what other folks say about you is not your business!
I did not plan on getting so heavy in today’s hockey article but sometimes it just comes out! Things happen how they are supposed to, and we also hear the facts when we’re ready.
Let’s talk about tonight’s hockey action! Very light evening, to say the least. There are only two games! The Montreal Canadians are in Vancouver tonight at 10:30p EST. While the Washington Capitals head to Edmonton to battle the Oilers at 8p EST. Our final score predictions, player projections, and betting odds will only get us so far tonight. We need to take it a step further with our player stacks and line combinations. Let’s get started!
As crazy as it seems, tonight no team, line, and player are off-limits. It is literally about moving the pieces around to make our puzzle fit!

MONTREAL CANADIENS L1 at Vancouver Canucks 10:30p EST
Nick Suzuki L1 & PP1(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,400)
Cole Caufield L1 & PP1(FD-$5,200)(DK-$5,000)
Josh Anderson L1 & PP1(FD-$4,800)(DK-$4,200)
The Montreal Canadiens are literally the worst team in the NHL and have only won 15 total games this year. Furthermore, Montreal plays in their fifth consecutive road game Wednesday night against the Canucks. Again, none of these matters to me tonight! Plus, if there is one silver lining tonight it’s the fact Montreal has won four of their last five games including two in a row after defeating Edmonton 5-2!
Leading the charge for the Canadiens has been their first line! Cole Caufield, Josh Anderson, and Nick Suzuki. Here are their stats in the last three games. Cole has scored once, added 3 assists, 9 shots on goal. Josh Anderson has chipped in 3 goals, one on the power-play to go along with 7 SOG. Nick Suzuki has been no slouch contributing 2 goals, both on the power-play, along with 5 assists and 11 SOG.
The Canadiens are 14-5 in their last 19 games against Vancouver. The total has also gone over in 8 of Vancouver’s last 8 games! While the Canadiens have gone over in 14 of their last 20 games. One thing I cannot shake here is betting the OVER of 6 goals. Stack this game up every which way you can! The Vancouver Canucks should win at home tonight, but Montreal hangs and keeps it close.
Finals score VAN 5-3!
WASHINGTON CAPITALS PP2 at Edmonton Oilers 8p EST
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,700)
Anthony Mantha L2 & PP2(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,600)
Conor Sheary L3 & PP2(FD-$4,500)(DK-$3,700)
Now we are talking! I love discovering fun individual hot streams then piecing them all together to find a common connection. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the Washington Capitals’ second power-play unit! For good measure, can even toss in second-line defenseman Nick Jensen(FD-$3,800)(DK-$2,500) seeing how is +27 so far this year!
This Washington offense as of late has been outstanding! The Caps are averaging around 3.25 goals a game on 31 shots per contest. Obviously, Alex Ovechkin is leading the team with 68 total points with a team-high 34 goals on 242 total shots. Ovi is, without doubt, the definition of ‘shoot your shot’! First-line center Evgeny Kuznetsov leads the Caps in assists this season with 36.
Edmonton has a very talented offensive skill set with the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Drasitl but, on a per-game basis, they are allowing around 3.20 goals. Also, after the night Alex Ovechkin had on Tuesday in Calgary, 2 goals, casual DFS’ers should flock to him again tonight. Let’s spin that to our advantage!
Probably an unpopular opinion but I firmly believe the Washington Capitals control this one from start to finish seeing how they have the deeper more skilled roster.
Washington stuns Edmonton! Final Score WSH 4-1!
