With baseball back and spring on the horizon, there is a lot to be excited about! With excitement comes being overwhelmed and feeling anxious about all the thoughts and ideas we want to explore! Being overwhelmed is rarely a good thing but I do believe there is good anxiety and bad anxiety. If you go to court that is bad anxiety. If you go on a date that is good anxiety, hopefully.

The start of spring, to me, is good anxiety as it adds another layer to my schedule, DFS content, and to-do list. The move for me is writing everything down on a piece of paper. That way all my thoughts aren’t just floating around willy-nilly in my head causing that bad anxiety leading to feeling overwhelmed.

We all have reasons why we do what we do but have you ever sat down to explore any of those reasons? Regardless of personal feelings and attitudes, the times are changing. Get ahead of it all and make a short gratitude list today! No need to set rules or parameters on it. Write and add as you see fit. Trust me, you will enjoy it!

Let’s talk hockey, shall we? Seven total games today ranging from the early afternoon to the evening. Here are a few of my thoughts. Let’s dig in!

NASHVILLE PREDATORS at Pittsburgh Penguins 4p EST

Ryan Johansen L1 & PP1(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,800)
Filip Forsberg L1 & PP1(FD-$8,500)(DK-$7,200)
Philip Tomasino L1 & PP2(FD-$3,900)(DK-$2,500)

The Nashville Predators have a firm grasp on the first Wild Card playoff spot with an overall record of 41-25-4. Good enough for 86 points and are 19-14-4 on the road. On offense, the Preds are scoring, on average, 3.05 goals a game on around 29.5 shots per contest. The Predator’s power-play is outstanding as they rank 6th in the NHL with a 24.8% success rate!

On defense, Nashville is allowing 2.80 goals a game on 32 shot attempts. While killing off around 81% of penalties faced. As it stands now, all signs point to Juuse Saros(33-21-3) in goal this afternoon. Jusse has been stellar with a .930 save percentage.

On the flip side, The Pittsburgh Penguins are 41-22-10 overall with a respectable 19-12-5 home record. Pittsburgh is in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division and has all but clinched a playoff spot. On offense Pittsburgh is scoring, on average, 3.30 goals a game on 35 shots. The Pens are cashing in around 21.2% of the time on the power play. Which is nothing crazy as it ranks 15th overall in the NHL.

The Penguins are allowing around 2.50 goals a game on 30 shot attempts this year. By all reports this morning, Pittsburgh goalie Tristen Jarry(33-17-6) should be in a goalie. Much like Saros, Jarry has been solid as well with a .904 save percentage.

Pittsburgh and Nashville are both averaging over 3 goals a game. While The over is 8-2 in the Pred’s last 10 games and 6-4 in the Penguins’ last 10 games. Smash the OVER 6 goals seeing how I am expecting 8 to 9 total goals. Nashville will get back on track in Pittsburgh this afternoon.

The Nashville Predators win in a fun, fast-paced, and exciting game by a final score of 5-4!

STACK ADDITION! Roman Josi L1 & PP1(FD-$8,000)(DK-$9,000)

If you don’t know to stack Josi with Nashville’s first line, then I cannot help you any further. The Preds have a top-10 power-play so far this year and Josi is, without doubt, the anchor of it all. Feeling froggy? Bet on Josi to score this afternoon, more than likely on the power play!

DALLAS STARS L1 at Chicago Blackhawks 7p EST

Roope Hintz L1 & PP1(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,800)
Jason Robertson L1 & PP1(FD-$7,900)(DK-$5,700)
Joe Pavelski L1 & PP1(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,500)

The Dallas Stars head to Chicago tonight to battle the hapless Blackhawks. The Stars are 40-26-4 in comparison to Chicago’s 24-36-11 record. If you’re keeping track at home that is a difference of 16 wins. Dallas has also won three of their last five games. I want to find more ways to burn the Blackhawks here with stats and numbers, but I will leave it be.

This entire first line has been money all season for the Stars and our DFS lines. Led by Joe Pavelski with a team-high 70 points, 26 goals, and 44 assists, which is also a team-best. Eleven of his goals have come on the power-play and two of them were game-winning goals! Fellow first linemate, Jason Robertson leads Dallas in goals with 32 while 10 of those have been on the power play! J-Rob also has 9 game-winning goals. Holy smokes!

In closing, Dallas is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Blackhawks. While Chicago is 0-6 in their last 6 game. Not good. Bad news. Chicago might hang in this one for a period or two, but Dallas will win.

Bet the Stars money line(-164) or even the puck line(-1.5 +158) as they win by a final score of 5-2!

OTTAWA SENATORS L1 vs. Winnipeg Jets 7:30p EST

Josh Norris L1 & PP1(FD-$7,100)(DK-$6,000)
Brady Tkachuck L1 & PP1(FD-$7,000)(DK-$6,200)
Mathieu Joseph L1 & PP2(FD-$3,700)(DK-$3,100)

I love a good Ottawa Senators day! Like a Buffalo Sabers Day but better! The Ottawa Senators head home to back-to-back nights as they welcome in the Winnipeg Jets. However, Winnipeg has picked the worst possible time to go on a four-game losing streak. As they are still chasing a Wild Card Playoff spot. The Jets are 33-28-11 overall and 7 points behind Dallas for that spot. No surprise but Ottawa has been eliminated from playoff contention but could cut it loose tonight and play spoiler.

Mr. Josh Norris, no relation to Chuck, is leading the Sens in goals with 31. As Brady Tkachuk is leading the Sens in assists with 29 and in points with 53. Ottawa is scoring, on average, 2.70 goals a game while allowing about 3.20 goals a game. On Jet’s side of things, they are scoring, on average, 3 goals a game while allowing around 3.10 goals a game.

Ottawa has beaten Winnipeg in four of the last five games between the two. Jets have also lost five of their last seven games when playing against an Eastern Conference team. The over has hit in 4 of the Jet’s last 5 games. The over has also hit in 5 of the Senator’s last 7 games.

Please bet the over 6 goals and take the Ottawa money line(+150) as they win by a final score of 4-2!
