I am fully aware most of you miss football. In extreme cases, some of you go through the five stages of grief every off-season. Specifically, they are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. To be clear I am not making fun of grief or any of these stages just trying to put into perspective what the month of April is like for us sports fans.

April gives us the start of baseball, the tail end of the hockey season, and the NBA Playoffs. Do these three sports make up for football? I am going to guess not but that thought alone can be explored and tells us to be happy and grateful for what we have right in front of us.

If you want to daydream about the NFL Draft or the start of the 2022 NFL season, then have it. However, I am going to place most of my attention on baseball and hockey! If you’re still with me let’s talk about the NHL schedule tonight. There are 14 total games tonight! Starting at 7p in Boston and ending in Vancouver at 10p EST.

Here is what I am thinking. Let’s dig in!

FLORIDA PANTHERS L2 vs. Anaheim Mighty Ducks 7p EST

Sam Bennett L2 & PP2(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,500)
Claude Giroux L2 & PP1(FD-$6,400)(DK-$4,900)
Jonathan Huberdeau L2 & PP1(FD-$9,000)(DK-$7,500)

The Panthers host the Anaheim Ducks tonight in what should be, not good for Anaheim. The Ducks have struggled to score this year while only averaging about 2.70 goals a game on 29 total shots. On the home ice side of the things, The Panthers have been running rough shot through the league and also looking to make it seven wins in a row. I like their chances.

Florida’s offense is outstanding. They are like a well-oiled machine scoring, on average, 4.20 goals per game on a whopping 37.4 shots. Jonathan Huberdeau just continues to stuff box scores on offense as he has accumulated 104 points in addition to a team-leading 77 assists.

I never mean to make fun of or put others down. I am simply stating a few betting trends that are what they are. The Ducks are 2-14 straight up in their last 16 games. The Ducks are 3-6 straight up last 9 games against the Panthers. Anaheim is also only 2-7 in their last 9 games on the road.

Stack up the Panthers any which way and watch the points add up! Florida has their way with Anaheim, and they win by a final score of 6-1!

STACK ADDITION! Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,700)(DK-$8,500)

Panther captain Aleksander Barkov is leading the team in goals with 34 goals on 190 shots. Stacking Barkov with FLA1 gives us a piece of the first power-play unit, second line, and a little taste of their first line. Stack him here or just use him as a one-off. Cannot go wrong either way!

WASHINGTON CAPITALS L1 vs. Philadelphia Flyers 7p EST

Evgeny Kuznetsov L1 & PP1(FD-$7,400)(DK-$6,400)
Conor Sheary L1(FD-$4,300)(DK-$2,900)
Alexander Ovechkin L1 & PP1(FD-$9,600)(DK-$8,300)

The Caps host the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in Capital One Arena. Washington is an outstanding 40-22-10 overall and 18-15-5 at home with their sights set on a deep playoff run. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Flyers as they are 23-38-11 overall and an atrocious 10-20-5 on the road. On offense, the Caps are scoring, on average 3.30 goals a game on 32 shots.

On defense, the Flyers are allowing a staggering 3.50 goals a game on around 35 total shot attempts. Anytime we look to stack up Washington there is also the idea of getting exposure to their first power-play unit. Ovi has made a literal living in that right faceoff circle with his legendary one-timer on the man advantage. This should be a field day for the Caps tonight as the Flyers are only killing off around 75% of their penalties.

On defense, the Caps are only allowing 2.70 goals a game on 28 shot attempts while killing off 82% of their penalties. Do not even think twice about stacking up this Washington Cap’s first line. Big-time stat line incoming!

The Washington Capitals will annihilate the Flyers tonight and win by a final score of 6-2!

NASHVILLE PREDATORS L2 vs. San Jose Sharks 8p EST

Mikael Granlund L2 & PP1(FD-$4,500)(DK-$3,200)
Matt Duchene L2 & PP1(FD-$7,600)(DK-$6,100)
Eeli Tolvanen L2 & PP2(FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,500)

The Sharks limp into Nashville Tennessee tonight with a record of 29-33-9 and have lost their last five games against the likes of Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Calgary, and on the road against Vancouver. The Preds are 41-26-5 overall and haven’t been much better themselves having lost three of their last five games. Against Buffalo, Florida, and on the road against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Mr. Matt Duchene is leading the Preds in goals with 38! While 14 of them have been on the power play. The Preds have moved their top-6 players around on the first two lines, but I’d imagine it’s just advance of the playoffs and working out the kinks! The Sharks are 0-6 straight up in their last 6 games. The Sharks are 1-5 straight up in their last 6 games against the Preds. While the Sharks are also 2-11 in their last 13 games on the road.

The total has gone over in 10 of the Predator’s last 15 games. I see no reason why they do not blow out the Sharks at Bridgestone Arena by a final score of 6-2!

STACK ADDITION! Roman Josi L1 & PP1(FD-$8,000)(DK-$8,800)

Look, how many Hot Pucks have you read with NSH1 listed that left off Roman Josi in the stack addition? Josi leads the Preds in points with 87 in addition to 19 goals. Roman also leads the team in assists with 68! While 25 of them have been on the power play! Do not omit Roman Josi tonight!

MINNESOTA WILD L2 vs. Edmonton Oilers 8p EST

Fredrick Gaudreau L2 & PP2(FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,900)
Matt Boldy L2(FD-$5,800)(DK-$2,800)
Kevin Fiala L2 & PP2(FD-$6,700)(DK-$4,700)

The Oilers have a stellar record of 42-25-6 this season and are 2nd overall in the Pacific. Edmonton has also won seven of their last ten games as they are above average on the road. More specifically, their road record is 19-13-5.

Come to find out the Wild just absolutely own the Oilers. Minnesota hung seven goals on Edmonton back in February and won by a final of 7-3. I have also uncovered some pretty juicy betting trends! As a Beasties Bonus, I feel cool taking some risks and implementing a looser stack idea. Therefore, let’s run it with MIN2!

Edmonton is 7-25 in their last 32 games on the road in Minnesota!
Edmonton is 0-5 in their last 5 games as a road underdog.
Minnesota is a stout 5-2 in their last 7 vs. Western Conference.

The Wild will continue their winning ways against the Edmonton Oilers and win by a final score of 5-2!
