Early this morning I shared a quote from Jim Stovall I came across last night. I wanted to explore it briefly. It reads as follows, “You want to be privy to what others are doing, applaud their efforts, well-known their successes, and encourage them of their interests. When we all assist one another, anybody wins.”

Simply put, be of service to others. A selfish way of living is cold. Selfish behavior will push away everything good in your life. Hey, if you want to wind up like Bill Murray from Scrooged then so be it. Rich and powerful but with nothing of importance around you. In a select few support group meetings, I have always heard the phrase, “we can only keep what we have by giving it away.” Think about that one and we can discuss it further at the same time tomorrow.

The 2022 NHL Playoff picture is starting to take shape and we should use it to our advantage. There are 10 total games on the Main slate tonight and here are several miss-matched line combinations I love tonight! Let’s dig in!

NEW YORK RANGERS L2 vs. Winnipeg Jets 7p EST

Ryan Strome L2 & PP1(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,800)
Andrew Copp L2 & PP2(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,600)
Artemi Panarin L2 & PP1(FD-$7,700)(DK-$6,400)

The Rangers welcome in the Jets tonight at Madison Square Garden. Winnipeg had an outside chance of getting into the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs but that is all over now. They are 10 points behind both Nashville and Dallas for a Wild Card spot. The Jets picked a horrible time to slump and are 2-6 straight up in their last 8 games.

On the other hand, the New York Rangers have clinched a playoff spot and currently have 104 total points and look to make it three wins in a row. Igor Shesterkin is the stud in goal for New York and has 35 wins out of his 49 starts this year. All while posting a .935 save percentage.

The recent betting trends paint a clear picture for tonight’s game. The Jets are 3-6 straight up their last 9 games against New York. While the Rangers are 5-1 straight up in their last 6 games.

Bet on the Rangers to win this one at home by a final score of 5-1!

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING L2 at Detroit Red Wings 7p EST

Ross Colton L2 & PP2(FD-$4,000)(DK-$3,000)
Ondrej Palat L2 & PP2(FD-$4,200)(DK-$3,300)
Steven Stamkos L2 & PP1(FD-$7,800)(DK-$7,000)

What can I say here about the Red Wings that hasn’t already been said? Fire Blashill, Dylan Larkin is a quitter, and the Wings stink. Easy now and slow down. Detroit has struggled all season and has lost four of their last five games including two straight which included a nasty 6-1 loss to Florida.

Tampa Bay will be hosting their third straight game at Amalie Arena tonight and should have no issue steamrolling the Red Wings. Two things that stand out to me here that may have been glossed over. The Wings are 4-16 straight in their last 20 games against Tampa Bay. While the total has gone over in 7 of Tampa Bay’s last 10 games. Meaning, bet the Tampa Bay puck line -2.5(-125) and stack up this second line.

The Lightning will have no issues tonight as them annihilate the Wings 5-1!

LOS ANGELES KINGS L1 at Anaheim Ducks 10p EST

Anze Kopitar L1 & PP1(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,600)
Adrian Kempe L1 & PP1(FD-$6,200)(DK-$5,700)
Andreas Athanasiou L1 & PP2(FD-$4,600)(DK-$4,000)

I find mid-April the perfect time to really get over on folks playing NHL DFS. As the season winds down more and more of these games become clear from a betting angle. None more so than the Kings playing the Ducks. Anaheim has a respectable record of 30-33-14 this season which is right about the middle of the pack in the Western Conference. Better days ahead for the Ducks.

When we look at the Kings, 40-27-5, they find themselves right in the thick of the Western Conference Playoff picture. LA captain Anze Kopitar has put in another solid season of 20:49 minutes of ice time a night to go along with 18 goals and 44 assists. Six of his goals have been on the power play. The real gem of this first line is Adrian Kempe! He has remained cheaply priced and underutilized in DFS formats this season. Kempe has scored 33 goals, 16 assists, and 7 game-winning goals. Not to mention 6 power-play goals. Stack up this King’s first line!

We will likely see John Gibson get his 54th start in goal for Anaheim tonight. John is 18-24-11 overall this season. Gibson has also allowed 164 total goals along with a 3.18 goals-against average. Mr. Gibson has been an outstanding source of fantasy points all year in GPPs. We just need to pick our spots with him. Tonight is not that night. The LA Kings are 7-1 in their last 8 games as a road favorite. Tonight, they are a road favorite in Anaheim.

The Kings pour it on late and win by a final score of 5-2!

VANCOUVER CANUCKS L2 vs. Ottawa Senators 10p EST

Elias Pettersson L2 & PP1(FD-$6,500)(DK-$6,000)
Brock Boeser L2 & PP1(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,300)
Jason Dickinson L2(FD-$3,100)(DK-$2,500)

Ah, I love a good late-game hammer! The Vancouver Canucks should do just that as they host the Ottawa Senators this evening. The Canucks are streaking at just the right time as they chase Vegas, Nashville, and Dallas for a Western Conference Wild Card spot!

The Canucks have an overall record of 37–28–10 and 86 points. Only five behind the Stars and Preds! Vancouver has also won five straight games coming against the likes of the Coyotes twice, SJ Sharks, and The Golden Knights twice!

This game is the classic case of two teams headed in different directions. The Sens are done for the year and just going through the motions while Vancouver has turned up the heat as they push for a playoff spot.

Do not get left out in the cold tonight. Stack up the Canucks as they win by a final score of 6-2!
