Today should be a national holiday. Realistically, a large portion of people treat it that way!. Unless you live on the moon or in a cave Opening Day is upon us! Find your favorite team on Twitter, fill out their holiday excuse form, turn it into your boss’s office, and head to the ballpark!

Oh hey! There still is hockey being played too! The tail end of the NHL season is upon us. It is a perfect time to take advantage as people transition to MLB DFS! We have been together all hockey season doing this! Don’t leave me now!

Happy Opening Day! Go to the Rise or Fall MLB Study Hub and get your bearings as the season picks up!

Tonight, the NHL schedule is ten total games! With these three stacks and Beasties bonus, I am almost certain we can crush the slate. Let’s dig in!

Ryan Johansen L1 & PP1(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,400)
Filip Forsberg L1 & PP1(FD-$8,500)(DK-$7,200)
Phillip Tomasino L1 & PP2(FD-$3,900)(DK-$2,500)

The Nashville Predators have an outstanding overall record of 40-25-4 this season. After a nice assertive 6-2 win against the Wild, they set their sights on the Senators in Ottawa. Food for thought here but Ryan Johansen scored three times as linemates Philip Tomasino and Roman Josi each scored and account for two assists apiece. That was then and this is now!

The Preds have been consistently good on offense this season scoring, on average 3.4 goals a game to go with around 30 total shots a game. Here are some recent betting trends to think of as we look to stack up Nashville tonight.

The Preds are 10-5 straight up in their last 15 games.
The Preds are 8-3 straight up against Ottawa in their last 11 games.
The total has gone over in 8 of the Pred’s last 9 games.
The total has gone over in 5 of the Sens’s last 6 games.

Nashville is the far better team. The Preds also have Stanley Cup Championship aspirations as the Senators are, well, just the Senators. I see no reason why we should bet against Nashville and stack them up tonight!

The Predators smash the Sens and win by a final score of 5-1!

STACK ADDITION! Roman Josi L1 & PP1(FD-$7,700)(DK-$8,900)

Mr. Josi leads the team in points(84) and assists(65). If you’re still hanging in their playing NHL DFS then using Josi should be no secret. Every time this guy is on the ice he demands our attention. Stack him up with the first line and keep it moving!

Sebastian Aho L1 & PP1(FD-$7,900)(DK-$7,000)
Seth Jarvis L1 & PP2(FD-$4,100)(DK-$3,500)
Teuvo Teravainen L1 & PP1(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,500)

Carolina welcomes in the Sabers tonight and has been otherworldly at home. To be more specific, The Hurricanes are 45-17-8, and 25-6-4 at home! Slim to no chance Buffalo can do anything of note here tonight. Carolina also owns the 1st place spot in the Metropolitan.

On offense Carolina is scoring, on average, 3.50 goals a game on around 33 total shots. The Hurricanes are converting on 24% of their power-play chances which is 8th overall in the NHL. and 53.6% on faceoffs. On defense, the Hurricanes are only allowing around 2.35 goals a game. Let’s be honest, the Hurricanes are gearing up for a deep playoff run as the Sabers continue to stay in sub. 500 purgatory.

Not to mention that Buffalo is only scoring about 2.7 goals a game. While also only winning about 46% of their faceoffs. This means Carolina should dominate this one from start to finish and have several more offensive opportunities.

Two betting trends that stood out to me from a DFS leverage point of view are Saber-related. Buffalo is 6-1-3 straight up their last 10 games. The over is also 6-3-1 in Buffalo’s last 10 games. What this tells me is that the folks playing NHL DFS tonight may use those two trends to paint a, “Let’s stack the Sabers tonight” picture. Bad move people. Stack up the Hurricanes in everything from single entry GPPs to multi-entry GPPs. Carolina is also 11-1 straight up against Buffalo in their last 12 games head-to-head.

The Hurricanes roll here from start to finish and win at home with a final score of 5-3!

NEW JERSEY DEVILS L1 vs. Montreal Canadiens

Nico Hischier L1 & PP1(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,200)
Jesper Bratt L1 & PP1(FD-$7,100)(DK-$5,900)
Miles Wood L1 & PP2(FD-$3,200)(DK-$2,500)

Overall, the Devils are 23-36-5 on the season. However, they have had some value in the DFS realm. Using the Devils in DFS formats this year has been like playing the lotto. Never know what night it’ll happen but it will happen! On offense, the Devils are scoring, on average, 3.10 goals a game on around 32 shots a contest.

The Canadian’s defense is allowing, on average, 3.80 goals a game on 35 total shot attempts. The over is also 7-3 in New Jersey’s last 10 games. Makes you think! I am sure you all cheated and sneakily scrolled down to Beasties Bonus! If you haven’t then I bet, you just did! All good! Just know I love this game from a fully stackable sense!

Expect a goal bonanza affair tonight as the Habs head to Jersey to face the Devils! As wild as it sounds, I am 100% absolutely taking the over. The New Jersey Devil gets it done tonight, at home!

The final score will read as follows; NJ Devils win 5-4!

MONTREAL CANADIENS L1 at New Jersey Devils

Nick Suzuki L1 & PP1(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,400)
Cole Caulfield L1 & PP1(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,600)
Rem Pitlick L1 & PP2(FD-$4,100)(DK-$2,500)

The Canadians are an awful 19-40-11 overall and even a more miserable 9-20-7 on the road. On offense Montreal is scoring, on average, 2.55 goals on 29 total shots. Not much to like from the Habs tonight until we investigate their opponent, the New Jersey Devils!

The Devils are allowing around 3.70 goals a game on defense. Safe to say they leave a lot to be desired in that category. Opposing teams have also been able to get off about 31 total shot attempts a game. Which, if I may say, is standard.

Hopefully, I did a good job explaining this full game to you as an outstanding game stack in the Devils blurb. I am not expecting either team to get ahead too big at any point. Just both exchanging goals until the clocks are all zeros!

Montreal should score easily in this one, but they very easily give them up. Montreal loses with a final score of 4-5!
