Hot Pucking Stacks

We live our lives based on replying. We aren’t listening anymore. We’re making every decision based on the reaction of others. Will they like it? Oh! What are people going to say? In turn, we aren’t being truly open and honest. It’s hurting our personal relationships.

Living for a reaction from strangers is hurting our emotional growth and affecting our mental health. We are lacking that personal touch. We are all walking on eggshells. We are writing, broadcasting, and socializing in fear of a stranger’s reaction.

Simply put, do as you please. Do as you see fit. Follow that every inclination to please yourself. We have all seen those corny social media posts like, “Live, Laugh, and Love!” but some ring true. If you enjoy it, follow it. If you love it, chase it. What strangers do and say about you is not your business. Strangers do not have to understand why you do what you do. They are not in your shoes.

Let’s talk about hockey, shall we? Nine total games tonight including a juicy Early Only slate! Here are several stacks I am into today! Let’s dig in!

ST. LOUIS BLUES L2 at Calgary Flames 10p EST

Robert Thomas L2 & PP2(FD-$5,200)(DK-$4,300)
Pavel Buchnevich L2 & PP2(FD-$6,000)(DK-$5,900)
Vladimir Tarasenko L2 & PP1(FD-$7,600)(DK-$7,000)

Last night the Blues went to war against the Edmonton Oilers! Granted they lost in overtime 6-5 but I love that they came alive! If you remember correctly, I mentioned STL2 last night in Hot puck and my blurb went as follows, “However, St. Louis has scored 4 total goals in back-to-back games.” So, after last night’s game, the Blues have scored 13 total goals in their last three games. Which is 4.33 goals a game average for their last three. Ride the hot streaks. Ride the hotlines.

The Blues are a heavy road dog tonight as the Flames are also a very fundamentally sound team with a high-end defense. The Blues may be touch-tired playing on back-to-back nights, but I am going to trust the recent trends between these two teams.

St. Louis is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings against Calgary.
St. Louis is 7-1 in their last 8 games vs. Pacific Conference teams.
St. Louis is 13-3 in their last 16 vs. Western Conference teams.
St. Louis is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a road underdog.

Tough to deny those four trends. The Blues extinguish the Flames tonight in Calgary. St. Louis wins 5-2!

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS L2 at Philadelphia Flyers 7p EST

John Tavares L2 & PP1(FD-$7,600)(DK-$6,300)
Ilya Mikheyev L2 & PP2(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,300)
Alexander Kerfoot L2(FD-$5,000)(DK-$2,900)

Every single DFS player across the globe tonight knows, and will, stack up Toronto’s first line tonight. Hey, it’s great move-in cash games or even head-to-head entries. Not so hot in massive multi-entry GPPs. While smart there is no edge and no advantage to be gained. What if, on the off chance, TOR1 is just so-so tonight? There go our entry fees. So, let’s take a chance with TOR2 tonight!

On offense Toronto is scoring, on average, an eye-popping 3.6 goals a game to go with 34 shots. The Maple Leafs are also chasing history with their outstanding power-play conversion rate of 30.3%. On defense, the Flyers are allowing 3.50 goals a game on 34.5 shot attempts while killing 75.6% of power plays faced.

Look I won’t waste your time here well, any more than I already have, Toronto wins big in this one. Big enough to take some chances with all their other line combos. Heck, Toronto’s third line is even in play here tonight. Have fun mixing and matching as many Maple Leaf skaters as possible!

The OVER 6 goals are also calling our name, but Toronto dominates from the rip. They win, 7-3!

MINNESOTA WILD L1 at Carolina Hurricanes 7p EST

Ryan Hartman L1 & PP1(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,900)
Mats Zuccarello L1 & PP1(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,700)
Kirill Kaprizov L1 & PP1(FD-$9,400)(DK-$7,600)

Wait! So, fade TOR1 but use MIN1? That seems contradictory! Absolutely because the interest and ownership percentages won’t be remotely close! The Maple Leafs are in a cake match-up while the Wild are battling a strong Carolina team. I feel as if we can skate by stacking Minnesota’s first line tonight. See what I did there?

The Wild are 41-20-5 overall which is good for 2nd place in the Central Division. On offense Minnesota is scoring, on average, 3.70 goals a game on about 33.4 shots a game. The Wild have a 21% success rate on the power play which is middle of the pack at 18th in the league. The Carolina defense is allowing around 2.40 goals a game on 29 total shot attempts.

The Wild are also 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. I find this game to be a very sneaky source of goals and fantasy points. While folks are looking at Toronto, Dallas, and even Tampa Bay I will be all in on both MIN/CAR.

This one could really go either way! However, the Wild get it done, maybe even in OT, and win 5-4!

CAROLINA HURRICANES L2 vs. Minnesota Wild 7p

Vincent Trocheck L2 & PP1(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,800)
Andrei Svechnikov L2 & PP1(FD-$7,400)(DK-$6,400)
Max Domi L2 & PP1(FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,600)

I know what you’re thinking! Hot Puck likes Minnesota’s first line so why not Carolina’s first line? Well, I try and put folks in the best possible spot to win. Therefore, MIN1 stacked with CAR2 is beautiful. While we can also stack up the opposite combination in CAR1/MIN2! I am all in on a full game stack between these two teams! It fits like a glove!

The Hurricanes are 45-15-8 overall and an outstanding 25-5-4 at home! Good enough for 1st place in the Metropolitan! On offense Carolina is scoring, on average, 3.30 goals a game on 33.5 shots. Defensively Minnesota is allowing around 3.10 goals a contest on 32 shot attempts.

As mentioned above in the Wild blurb this game could go either way. So, instead of betting money lines or puck lines simply stack the heck out of this game!
