MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel 8-10

Our coach, ‘TMay’, is coming in hot with some early morning MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. It’s a nice looking slate today and a good time to focus up and make some money. Let’s get to work.

Cash Picks

SP

Kyle Gibson (TEX)- At $8,600 on DraftKings and $8,700 on FanDuel, Gibson is at a reasonable price point against a Seattle offense that is 23rd in MLB in wRC+ and has an implied run total of 4. Gibson has posted a K/9 over 10 thus far in 2020 and should cruise through this Mariners lineup.

Dallas Keuchel (CWS)- At $7,800 on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Keuchel is a stand out high floor play against Detroit. The Tigers have an implied run total of 4.09 and have struck out almost 30% of their plate appearances in 2020. Keuchel consistently gives his team 5 plus innings pitched and should see an uptick in strikeouts against this Tigers lineup.

Hitters

Colorado Rockies- The Rockies are playing at Coors Field against a struggling starting pitcher in Robbie Ray. There should be plenty of baserunners as Ray has not had his command in recent outings posting a BB/9 of 7.43 in 2020. Free baserunners are a recipe for disaster in Coors and Colorado should score often in this spot. Focus on Trevor Story, Nolan Arenado, Daniel Murphy, and Matt Kemp.

Chicago White Sox- The White Sox are one of the most powerful offenses in MLB posting a wRC+ of 114 and are facing a struggling Michael Fulmer. Fulmer has been a low strikeout pitcher for the past couple of years and Chicago has an implied run total of 4.91. Focus on Luis Robert, Yoan Moncada, Jose Abreu, and Yasmani Grandal.

GPP Picks

SP

Justin Dunn (SEA)- At $5,100 on DraftKings and $5,600 on FanDuel, Dunn is my favorite pay down starting pitcher on the slate. Dunn is a top prospect in the Mariners system and projects to be a high strikeout guy. This is a great spot for Dunn to succeed against a Rangers offense that ranks dead last in MLB in wRC+. I’ll have shares of Dunn to get to the high priced stacks on today’s slate.

Lance McCullers (HOU)- At $8,200 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel, McCullers should be a low owned pivot off of Kyle Gibson and Dallas Keuchel. Recency bias will drive people away from McCullers as he got shelled by Arizona his last time out. McCullers has posted elite strikeout numbers in the past with a 9.96 K/9 in 2018 and a 10.01 K/9 in 2017. I expect him to bounce back against a pedestrian San Francisco offense in Houston.

Stacks

Milwaukee Brewers- Milwaukee has an implied run total of 4.31 and is facing Randy Dobnak who is not overpowering by any means. Dobnak is giving up hard contact over 40% of the time but only has an ERA of .60. I think his luck will run out against a Brewers offense that is getting hot. Focus on Christian Yelich, Keston Hiura, Logan Morrison, and Eric Sogard.

Oakland Athletics- Oakland is facing Julio Teheran who is a fly ball pitcher that does not strike out many hitters. An implied run total of 4.66 suggests that Oakland should have plenty of opportunities to score in this spot. The Athletics are posting a wRC+ of 101 which is about league average. They should go overlooked and have power up and down the lineup. Focus on Matt Chapman, Matt Olson, Marcus Semien, and Mark Canha.
