Pitching Analysis

Kyle Braddish – Baltimore Orioles ($10,600)

Our highest-priced pitcher of the night, Kyle Braddish, comes in with some recent strong performances. He boasts a 24.7% strikeout rate, a mere 0.80 home runs per nine innings, and a solid 6.6% walk rate. His 3.82 SEIRA indicates consistency. The key here is his ability to keep the ball down, with only 0.80 home runs per nine innings. However, there’s a caveat – weather conditions and a strong opposing team.

Kevin Gausman – Unquestionable Skill ($10,300)

For those seeking top-tier pitching, Kevin Gausman is the one to watch. With a stellar 31.5% strikeout rate, a 6.4% walk rate, and a 0.91 home run rate, he’s a pitcher with the right mix of control and firepower. He also boasts a solid 3.21 Sierra. While the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay may pose a challenge, Gausman’s potential for double-digit strikeouts is undeniable.

Kent Maeda – Budget-Friendly Option ($7,600)

Looking for a budget-friendly option? Kent Maeda could be your choice at $7,600. Despite limited innings this season due to injuries, he maintains an impressive 25.8% strikeout rate. His historical stats also indicate consistency, with a 32.3% strikeout rate in 2020 and a 27% strikeout rate in 2019. The Chicago White Sox present an enticing matchup, with a 21.8% strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers.

Hitter Considerations

Coors Field

While Coors Field is usually a goldmine for hitters, tonight’s game is at risk due to heavy rain. If you’re risk-averse, consider limiting exposure here, especially in single-lineup strategies. Multiple lineups could incorporate Coors Field hitters if the weather clears.

Minnesota Twins

With their budget-friendly salaries, the Minnesota Twins are a prime choice for stacking. Jose Urena, their opponent, has struggled this season, with a high walk rate and a propensity to give up home runs. Consider players like Royce Lewis, Jorge Polanco, Max Kepler, and others, who all come at appealing price points.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are in a must-win situation, and they face Nathan Eovaldi, who’s only recently returned from the IL. Eovaldi’s limited innings open the door for Toronto hitters. Keep an eye on Davis Schneider, George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Whit Merrifield, depending on your budget and lineup strategy.

Final Thoughts

This four-game slate brings some challenges due to uncertain weather conditions at Coors Field. Kevin Gausman remains the top pitching option, but Kent Maeda provides a budget-friendly alternative with an advantageous matchup against the White Sox. When it comes to hitters, the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays offer strong stacking potential.

As always, stay tuned for weather updates and adjust your lineups accordingly. Good luck in your contests!
