mlb dfs top pitchers

In today’s article we’ll focus on the MLB DFS Top Pitchers for Saturday 4/22/23 Early Slate. Saturday’s early slate of MLB DFS games brings us some intriguing pitching matchups, with four top-tier pitchers on the mound who are worth considering for your lineup. Gerrit Cole, Shane Bieber, Pablo Lopez, and Alek Manoah are all excellent options to lead your roster to victory.

Gerrit Cole

First up, we have Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees, who will be facing off against Alek Manoah of the Toronto Blue Jays. Cole is an absolute stud on the mound, with a strikeout rate of 32% and a walk rate of just 7%. He’s been dominant against the Blue Jays in the past, however, pitchers who have similar repertoires to Cole having an ERA of 5.28 against them over the last year so this is not exactly an easy matchup today. That being said, on this 6 game early slate Cole’s DK projection is 20.13, making him a top-tier option for Saturday’s slate.

Shane Bieber

Next, we have Shane Bieber of the Cleveland Indians, who will be facing off against the Miami Marlins. Bieber has a strikeout rate of 24% and a walk rate of just 5%. He’s been dominant against right-handed hitters, with current Marlins hitters having an OPS of just .621 against top-tier right-handed pitchers like Bieber over the last two years. His DK projection is 19.58, making him another top-tier option for Saturday’s slate.

Pablo Lopez

Pablo Lopez of the Minnesota Twins will be taking on Chad Kuhl of the Washington Nationals. Lopez has a strikeout rate of 25% and a walk rate of just 7%. Right-handed starters have an ERA of 2.91 against the Nationals since last season. Meanwhile, current Twins hitters have struck out 24.8% of the time against pitchers similar to Kuhl over the last two years. Although Kuhl is a risky play with a DK projection of just 8.48, Lopez’s DK projection of 19.55 makes him a solid choice for Saturday’s slate.

Alek Manoah

Last but not least, we have Alek Manoah of the Toronto Blue Jays, who will be facing off against Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees. Although Manoah is a rookie, he has shown impressive stuff on the mound, with a strikeout rate of 22% and a walk rate of just 8%. Current Yankees hitters have struggled against top-tier right-handed pitchers like Manoah, striking out 28.6% of the time over the last two years. While his DK projection of 16.83 isn’t as high as the other three pitchers on this list, he’s still a solid option for Saturday’s slate.

Overall, these four pitchers all have the potential to lead your lineup to success. Consider the matchups, projections, and any other relevant data before making your final decisions. Good luck in your MLB DFS contests!
