High Priced

Today’s slate offers a variety of pitching options, with two high-priced aces leading the pack. Jacob deGrom of the Texas Rangers and Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers are both priced above $9,000 on DraftKings and offer excellent upside.

DeGrom, who is priced at a hefty $11,000, is facing the Oakland Athletics today. Current Athletics hitters have struck out 28.6% of the time against top-tier right-handed pitchers like deGrom over the last two years. With his 42% strikeout rate and 1.71 ERA, deGrom is as top-tier as it gets. He is projected to score 29.61 DK points and has a 16% ownership rate. DeGrom is an excellent choice for cash games and tournaments.

Burnes, priced at $9,200, is facing the Boston Red Sox. Current Red Sox hitters have an OPS of .691 against top-tier right-handed pitchers like Burnes over the last two years. Burnes, on the other hand, has been nothing short of dominant this season with a 3.06 ERA and 29% strikeout rate. He is projected to score 21.51 DK points and has a 1.6% ownership rate. Burnes is a solid choice for tournaments.

Mid Priced

Moving down the price range, Cristian Javier of the Houston Astros and Max Fried of the Atlanta Braves are two mid-priced pitchers worth considering.

Javier, priced at $8,600, is facing the Atlanta Braves. Current Braves hitters have struck out 29.3% of the time against top-tier right-handed pitchers like Javier over the last two years. With his 32% strikeout rate and 2.69 ERA, Javier is an excellent mid-priced option. He is projected to score 17.82 DK points and has a 1.1% ownership rate.

Fried, priced at $7,700, is facing the Houston Astros. Left-handed starters have been great against the Astros this year, and Fried has been solid this season with a 2.42 ERA and 23% strikeout rate. He is projected to score 17.45 DK points and has a 0.1% ownership rate.

Low Value Price

Finally, for those looking for some bargain options, Grayson Rodriguez of the Baltimore Orioles and Vincent Velasquez of the Pittsburgh Pirates are two low-priced pitchers worth considering.

Rodriguez, priced at just $6,000, is facing the Detroit Tigers. Right-handed starters have allowed a batting average of .221 against the Tigers over the last two years. While Rodriguez has struggled with a 6.91 ERA, his 31% strikeout rate and favorable matchup make him an intriguing GPP option. He is projected to score 14.27 DK points and has a 3.1% ownership rate.

Velasquez, priced at $5,800, is facing the Cincinnati Reds. While he doesn’t have the strikeout upside of some of the other pitchers on this slate, Velasquez has been solid with a 4.85 ERA and 21% strikeout rate. He is projected to score 12.55 DK points and has a 0.2% ownership rate. Velasquez is a low-cost option for those looking to stack their lineups with high-priced hitters.

Overall, today’s slate offers a variety of pitching options at different price points. While deGrom and Burnes are the top high-priced options, Javier and Fried provide solid mid-priced alternatives. For those looking to save some salary, Rodriguez and Velasquez are intriguing low-priced options with upside.
