Welcome to the MLB DFS Top Pitchers for Thursday 4/27/23 Main Slate! We have a stacked slate of pitchers tonight, with several options who are worthy of consideration for your DFS lineups. In this article, we’ll break down each pitcher’s matchup, recent performance, and salary to help you make the best decision for your lineup. Whether you’re looking for a high-priced ace or a bargain option with upside, we’ve got you covered. So, let’s dive in and take a closer look at the top pitchers for tonight’s slate.

MLB DFS Top Pitchers for Thursday 4/27/23 Main Slate

Let’s start with the top tier of pitchers. Gerrit Cole is an obvious choice and is priced accordingly. He’s been dominant in two out of his five starts this season and has a strong strikeout rate. He’s facing the Rangers tonight, and their hitters have a 3-star matchup against Cole. The potential for home runs is there, but his mix of innings and strikeouts make him a DFS goldmine.

Shane McClanahan is another ace with a steady track record. He’s actually ahead of Cole in overall strikeout rate this season, with no fewer than six strikeouts in any start. The White Sox are not a particularly good team, and the bottom half of their lineup has plenty of strikeouts. While he’s priced lower than Cole, there’s still a $1,200 gap on DK, so it depends on your budget.

Dylan Cease has a lot of upside but also has some risk. He’s at the same level as Cole and McClanahan in terms of potential, but his control issues are a concern, and the Rays offense could give him trouble.

Tyler Mahle is a strong option and comes at a cheaper price than Cease. He’s consistently had a 25% strikeout rate or higher for the past four seasons, and his control has been sharp this season. He’s facing the Royals, and pitchers with similar repertoires to Mahle have an ERA of 3.67 against them over the last year.

Andrew Heaney is not showing the same strikeout ability as he has in previous seasons, and his control is sketchy. While he has upside, Mahle is a better option in his price range.

Kyle Gibson and Joey Lucchesi are both at a discount on DK and facing two of the weakest teams in the league. Lucchesi is the best points-per-dollar upside on the slate, but he’s not quite at the talent level of the top tier. Gibson struck out 11 Tigers in six innings in his last start against them, but his potential is limited.

In summary, for your primary lineups, consider Gerrit Cole, Shane McClanahan, Tyler Mahle, and Joey Lucchesi on DK. Andrew Heaney and Dylan Cease have some potential but are riskier options. Kyle Gibson is a viable pick but has less upside than the other options. Use this information to make the best picks for your MLB DFS lineup tonight!
