Quintana’s 2022 season was unexpectedly solid with a 2.93 ERA, and his recent season debut showed promise as he held the White Sox to two earned runs over five innings. With the Yankees dealing with offensive struggles, now ranking in the bottom-10 in OPS and runs scored, Quintana has a favorable matchup.

The Yankees’ limited offensive capabilities and missing key hitter Aaron Judge further enhance Quintana’s potential for a successful outing. While not a high-ceiling pick, Quintana’s consistency and modest salary make him an appealing choice for a limited-slate strategy.

Marcus Stroman (CHC) vs. CHW

Marcus Stroman‘s recent performances may not inspire confidence, sporting a 6.46 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP over his last five starts. However, facing the White Sox, who have struggled offensively with the fourth-worst OPS in baseball, Stroman has a chance to bounce back. Despite his recent struggles, Stroman holds a solid 3.09 ERA for the 2023 season and has a history of keeping the ball in the park.

While the White Sox rely on home runs, they struggle with a sub-.300 OBP, making Stroman’s all-or-nothing lineup handling skills an asset. Though not without risks, Stroman is the one pitcher on this slate who presents a degree of confidence and could surprise with a strong performance.
