Double A’s
As we look at Friday’s slate of games, we’ve identified two hitters who stand out as top plays. We like to call them the “double A’s,” as they both rank as A projection and A value on the DraftKings platform.
First up, we have Nate of the Texas Rangers, who is priced at $4,700 and playing against the Oakland Athletics. Lowe has been hitting left-handers with low strikeout rates exceptionally well, with a slugging percentage of .603 in his last 138 plate appearances against them over the last two seasons. His matchup against JP Sears should provide him with an opportunity to keep that trend going, making him an excellent option for DFS players.
Our second “double A” pick is Teoscar Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners, priced at $4,700 and facing the St. Louis Cardinals. Hernandez is known for his power, and Steven Matz has struggled against right-handed batters with power in recent years, allowing a slugging percentage of .514 against them. This matchup could provide Hernandez with the chance to flex his muscles and rack up points for DFS players.
So if you’re looking for some top-notch hitters to add to your DFS lineup for Friday’s slate of games, look no further than Nate Lowe and Teoscar Hernandez, the “double A’s” of the day.
Marcus Semien
Marcus Semien of the Texas Rangers. Semien is projected as a tier-three hitter with a right-handed matchup against JP Sears of the Oakland Athletics. Semien has been on fire lately, boasting an OPS of 1.641 in his last 16 at-bats over the last five days. He’s a strong contender for a big game on Friday.
Next up, we have Josh Jung, also of the Texas Rangers. Although his matchup data is limited, he is projected as a tier-five hitter with a right-handed matchup against JP Sears of the Oakland Athletics. Despite the limited data, Jung has been performing well and is worth considering in your lineup.
Eugenio Suarez
Eugenio Suarez of the Seattle Mariners is another hitter worth considering. Suarez is a tier-five hitter with a right-handed matchup against Steven Matz of the St. Louis Cardinals. Although the matchup data favors Matz, Suarez has been performing well lately, and he could have a breakout game.
Daulton Varsho of the Toronto Blue Jays is projected as a tier-four hitter with a left-handed matchup against Domingo German of the New York Yankees. Varsho has been struggling lately, but he has the potential for a bounce-back game, and he could be a valuable addition to your lineup.
Jonah Heim of the Texas Rangers is projected as a tier-six hitter with a left-handed matchup against JP Sears of the Oakland Athletics. Heim has been slugging .743 in his last 74 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers with low strikeout rates like Sears over the last two seasons. Heim could be an excellent value play in your lineup.
Let’s Get Rowdy
Rowdy Tellez of the Milwaukee Brewers is another player to consider. Tellez is a tier-four hitter with a left-handed matchup against Nick Pivetta of the Boston Red Sox. Tellez has been slugging .693 in his last 118 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers who rely heavily on both the slider and curve like Pivetta over the last two seasons. He’s a strong contender for a big game on Friday.
Finally, Esteury Ruiz of the Oakland Athletics rounds out our list of top hitters. Ruiz is projected as a tier-one hitter with a right-handed matchup against Jon Gray of the Texas Rangers. Ruiz has been batting .302 in his last 63 at-bats this season, and he could be a great value play in your lineup.
