Coors Field will undoubtedly be the center of attention in tonight’s slate of games, with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies facing off in a game with the highest projected total. However, there are plenty of other teams with potential for big scores, making for an exciting slate of hitters.
Here are my top picks for high-priced, mid-priced, and value hitters:
High-Priced Hitters:
Mike Trout (OF, LAA) – Trout is one of the most consistent and high-upside hitters in the league. He’s facing off against Wade Miley, who’s a decent real-life pitcher, but tough to stack against. That’s why Trout is a good pick for a one-off play, or as part of a mini-stack.
Jose Ramirez (3B, CLE) – Ramirez is another high-upside hitter with a solid floor. He’s facing Nick Pivetta, who relies on strikeouts to do well, but the Cleveland Guardians are a team with plenty of contact bats. This makes Ramirez a good option to fill out your lineup.
Christian Walker (1B, ARI) – Walker is a solid pick against Kyle Freeland, who’s been struggling with control issues this season. Walker has been doing well against lefties, and with Freeland allowing a lot of hits to righties, he should be able to capitalize on the matchup.
