mlb dfs top plays

Welcome to my MLB DFS Top Plays article for Thursday, April 27th, 2023 main slate! With another exciting day of baseball ahead of us, I’ve scoured the player matchups, recent performances, and DK projections to bring you a list of the top players to target in your daily fantasy lineups. From power hitters to consistent performers, there are plenty of options to choose from to help you build a winning roster. So, let’s dive in and find out who are the top plays for today’s slate.

MLB DFS Top Plays for Thursday 4/27/23 Main Slate

One player that stands out in today’s slate is the New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge. Priced at $6,300 on DK, Judge is projected to hit second in the lineup and faces off against Texas Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney, who relies heavily on the fastball. In his last 28 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers with a similar repertoire, Judge has slugged an impressive 1.077, making him a top-tier option for your lineup today.

Another Yankee to consider is Anthony Rizzo, priced at a more affordable $4,400. Heaney’s reliance on the fastball also plays into Rizzo’s favor, as he’s slugging .556 in his last 148 plate appearances against soft-throwing lefties.

Moving over to the Minnesota Twins, Jorge Polanco is a player to keep an eye on. He’s coming off a hot streak with an OPS of 1.278 in his last 18 at-bats and faces off against Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke. While Greinke is projected to have a decent outing, Twins hitters have a three-star average matchup against him, giving Polanco a solid chance to produce for your lineup.

Fellow Twins player Carlos Correa is also an intriguing option. Correa is projected to hit second in the lineup and faces off against Greinke, who has allowed a .649 slugging percentage against right-handed batters who hit for power, like Correa.

In the New York Mets’ game against the Washington Nationals, Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil are two left-handed hitters to consider. While Nimmo is struggling in his last five games with a .143 batting average, he has an OPS of .801 against soft-throwing right-handed pitchers like Trevor Williams. McNeil, on the other hand, is slugging .617 in his last 133 plate appearances against soft-throwing righties.

Lastly, don’t overlook Vinnie Pasquantino of the Kansas City Royals. He’s projected to hit third in the lineup and has an OPS of .953 in 46 at-bats against right-handers who rely heavily on the slider, like Tyler Mahle of the Twins. While other matchup data favors the Royals, Pasquantino could provide great value for your lineup at just $3,700.
